Hey, I'm Steven Tom Smith, Steve for short ;), I'm a 23 year old singer/songwriter originally from a wee village near St. Andrews, Fife. I've lived in Aberdeen and York and am currently back in Scotland recording some new songs :)
It's just me and my acoustic most of the time, although there' are a couple of songs like "Stay with me forever" where I've picked up an, accordion and attempted to make some sort of noise (Attempted being the word, :D ). It's full of holes and sounds a bit out of tune, but that only adds to it's charm!
I try to write songs that sound original and I believe that the lyrics and music are equally as important. I'm not afraid to experiment with new ideas. I endeavour to introduce depth and meaning to all of my songs. However, I also believe that people should be able to listen to a song and appreciate it at face value. To me, listening to a song should be like the way you get to know and appreciate someone better over time, discovering hidden depths you never knew existed.
So far I've played a live slot on BBC Radio nan Gaidheal, played on aberdeenstudentradio.com and played around Scotland in some cool wee places. If you are a promoter or a venue and want me to play, please give me an email at steventomsmith@hotmail.com !
I would also quite like to do a few house gigs too, so if you are up for it and promise not to kidnap me, let me know!
Or if you just wanna chat, find out when I'm next playing or are just interested in what colour/animal/number I'm thinking of at any point in time, please get in touch too, would be fantastic to hear from you, Steve ;)

If you like what you hear, please tell your friends ... and your whole family (even the cousins you never see), your pets, people in the street ... and I will be very grateful (and happy!)
