Destiny: The predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events. Steve Rutledge knew his destiny from a very early age—music. After years of paying dues and honing his skills Steve is living his dream as a professional musician in Nashville, Tennessee, and has played for audiences worldwide. An accomplished guitarist and vocalist, Steve was born and raised in Frankfort, Kentucky, with the typical small-town upbringing.
Steve began playing guitar at the age of 5 and after only 6 months of
lessons Steve’s gift for music was apparent. He immersed himself in music and formed his first band at the age of 12 and began playing the club circuit at the age of 15.
His diverse musical influences included Stevie Ray Vaughn, Neal Schon, Steve Lukather, Larry Carlton, Lee Reitenhour and Dann Huff. A leap of faith led him to make his first trip to Nashville at the age of 22 where he quickly attracted the attention of the country music community however the timing was not right and he returned to his hometown and continued to hone his craft.
Shortly thereafter he met his soul mate, Diane, and they
married. With the support of his wife Steve continued his pursuit of music. In one of life’s ironic twists, a flood destroyed their home and what could have been interpreted as a tragedy proved to be divine ordination. With very little to their name and acting on faith, Steve and Diane set out for Nashville. With faith, patience and determination, Steve is now living his dream as a professional guitarist and producer in Nashville.
