I'm a songwriter from the South who grew up in the Baptist Church,
played in several rock bands and a show band. Then I moved to NYC
where I began playing piano bars where I learned the American
Songbook, started playing on a cruise ship, then moved to Los Angeles
where I worked at the National Academy of Songwriters. Eventually, I
began writing for the Stage and that's where I found my biggest
success. I've written the scores for two his Off-Broadway contemporary
pop rock musicals (The Last Session and The Big Voice: God or Merman?)
and I've toured as a solo performer all around the country. I've won
numerous awards and award nominations for my work including Best
Musical Awards in Los Angeles. There's a whole listing of them on my
blog at http://bonusroundblog.blogspot.com. I was one of the first
bloggers on the Internet and I'm a total computer geek, music geek and
I'm incredibly good looking. What else do you need to know except
that, if you're a singer, I want you to SING MY DAMN SONGS!

Steve Schalchlin: The Music's Friend Space (Top 4)
"James Robertson" and "Cool By Default" are such brilliant songs. You will get plenty of takers for your songs. If not, you can be the artist. No one can sing them better than you. Your intonation and interpretation are flawless. Thanks for the add, Steve. BTW., I like this profile pic.
Hi Steve, thanks for the invite. You've followed the golden thread down the long and winding yellow brick road and landed at Chiasmus Musical Theatre. Now all you gotta do is tell the man who keeps the keys that in a city of strangers, you're a welcome friend. Really enjoying your music. Congratulations on the awards. .Hope one day to get to see a show. Great vibes. Keep it alive

I must apologise for the penguins. I wanted to leave them at home but they would insist on coming too...
Hey Steve! I hope all is well with you, now that you're "driving the half-block to Trader Joe's" again. Hope to see you guys in the city again very soon!
