Three of these songs are from SONGS OF THE RICH AND POOR, a project I did with my friend Brian Bolton. The Magnificat/Nunc Dimittis is original; the other two are traditional. These recordings are from a performance we did in DC in October 2007. (Liz Green came down from Boston to help out on vocals.) They're live, fairly raw, and here for your enjoyment in magnificent single-microphone mono.
The other two songs are from my 2004 record Findings and Gray Areas, my second full-length. Buy it at CD Baby.
Before I set out alone with two solo albums and literally dozens of performances, I played in a SE Wisconsin band called Ticklepenny Corner, led by the fabulous Noah Riemer. This was in the early days, when they were small, not later, when they got medium-small. Later, I played in Charles Kim's instrumental group Sinister Luck Ensemble, along with doing a variety of here-and-there work with songwriter friends.
More recently, I've done a lot of church music. I've written a variety of service music pieces, some in a contemporary hymnodic style and others for a trad. country band. I hope to complete a full Eucharistic liturgy in the latter style in the relatively near future.
Meanwhile, I've been nurturing some other, non-musical interests, including writing, editing, graduate work in literature and theology, and being a grownup. Turns out it's not that bad.
I blog here. Generally about religion, not music. I'm also a member of the Cheap Shot Posse.
Dude, you need a mug shot! How are you, friend? Come down to B-town and hang out...feel sorry for me since I'm such a loser and must resort to begging for friend hang outs. Sigh.
