About me:
It's time I updated this. I've now reached the ripe old age of 45 and have experienced a fairly substantial life upheaval in the past 10 months.In June 08 I got the redundancy I was hoping for and then spent 5 months chilling out and enjoying myself. This was followed by 4 month of frustration and fruitless endeavour looking for a new job. This has actually turned out for the best as my mother's health has, unfortunately, deteriorated to the level where she needs constant attention so I have moved 'home' to act as her full time carer. I'm also using this opportunity to return to the world of academia for the first time in 28 years and have just started studying for a degree with the Open University.

During this period of time I have also become a director of the Classic Rock Society and, following Martin Hudson's decision to step back and take a well earned rest, will be devoting as much time as possible to supporting Miles Bartaby in running the business.

Once upon a time I was a very active sportsman playing football, rugby and cricket to a decent level. I still play a bit of cricket when I can find the time but years of injuries are starting to take their toll. An interesting fact about me is that in September 2005 I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro just 9 months after having a total knee reconstruction. It was one of the biggest highs (no pun intended) of my life.
