Steve Vesolich’s first full-length solo CD, “This Continual Fight,” is an acoustic mix of blues, folk, rock, and jazz. Scott Tady from the Beaver County Times wrote, “A compelling acoustic-rock effort with nimble guitar picking, catchy percussion, and thoughtful lyrics. Stylistically rooted somewhere between Jack Johnson — minus the beach vibe — and Over the Rhine.” Spirituality and cynicism both get their say on “This Continual Fight” as Vesolich attempts to look past the trivial and focus on the more important things of life. The album was recorded at Audible Images and features Steve’s wife Lisa Laura Lucci on vocals, his sister, Stephanie Wilsey on vocals and piano, Levi Stahl on drums, Aubrey Strano, and Steve on vocals, guitar, and bass
While attending Geneva College, Steve became the lead singer of the rock band Quiver. After they disbanded, Steve formed the folk/rock duo Xara and won AcoustiCafe’s 2003 Singer-Songwriter Competition. He then released his first full-length album, Beggar’s Cup, which contained the single “I Never Feel More Lonely than I Do When You’re Around” featured on WYEP. When Xara broke up, Steve spent a year writing scores to plays for Blankspace Arts, Mimeradio, and Cup-A-Joe Productions. In 2006 he started performing again as a solo/collaborative artist. His shows feature an eclectic mix of over 200 covers and 50 originals.
Hey Steve! It was a pleasure meeting you and Lisa on Saturday. And thank you so much for agreeing to play. Hope that you're able to make it back to The Fallout Shelter sometime. And definitely...more Cope!! ;-p
I haven't talked to you in sometime, buddy. Sorry for dropping the ball on my end. You were the last to call and I have not really called back. I hope everything is cool and Lisa is great. I hope to make it up there soon. I will probably be alone this time and I pray that we could spend a whole night together or something. The last visit was just a touch and go. I really didn't like it that much. i didn't get much of a Steve fix. Well, that is all. TTYL.
Well, I won't be able to make it up for the CD release; I am the best man in Jacob's wedding in Va, the next day...but I am bringing him up the weekend before to get this Bachelor Party...so, if you got any ideas on what to show/do, holla @ yo boy! See you next month...oh, and will i be able to get a early release copy? I promise not to leak the music :D
I'm doing ok. I'm asking Jesus for grace every day as I move ahead with London plans. Ugh. :) I'm currently at 71% of my monthly support needs, so I'm hoping to be (FINALLY) moving in September. We'll see! How are you guys??
