I'm the lemon you can't squeeze blood from/
Freeze now, scream redrum/kingdom come/my will be done/
On earth, here as in Hell
Politics
The Founding Fathers cry in shame at what our government's today
Greedy, manipulative spiders content and fat within their webs
Capitalizing off of ignorance
Television
The mind-control device of the modern age
It raises your children
Teaches you who to vote for
It even thinks for you so you don't have to
Give it all your time, love, and attention
And you'll never feel anything anymore
Art
What we have to fight this growing chaos
Of trivial nature and corruption
But our artists are subdued for basic needs
And so become the tools of greed
We yell, "Don't sell out,"
And in that moment become hypocrites
Religion
Petty wars
Based off an acknowledgment of truth
The truth that mankind is stupid
And needs something to guide it
So why the squabbling?
ME
The cry of the modern world
The word on everyone's lips
What about? What about? What about?
ME ME ME
Who am I? That's a popular question
Though it's no longer rhetorical
We really don't know anymore
I know this much
I'm a Socrates, a Buddha, a Jesus
A thinker who's seen the evils of the world and is screaming
"What is going on!"
YOU
Who are you?
A puppet, a paycheck, or a weapon
Your value is limited to how much others can use you
Your life is not your own
Least not till you wrench it
From the claws of Washington, Wal-Mart, and Google
Open your mind, read a book,
Think, survive, win.
WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS
MAKE YOURSELF COMFORTABLE, YOU WON'T BE LEAVING
