I dunno, I think the AXE-FX is something entirely different than anything before.
I have heard what it can do and it would make my life a lot easier and I would love to buy one if it didn't cost an absolute fortune.
Amp wise... ye I started playing my old '74 Marshall and its just one of these things that is just gonna cost me money. Be it mods, speakers, attenuators, pedals... then fingers crossed im gonna like the bloody outcome.
So you're taking on all the guitar duties and vocal duties in this floyd band?
Any clips yet? myspace site?
I have a slight addiction to recording Floyd, thankfully its not taken hold anytime lately. I have my moods. Tends to swing between Van Halen and Pink Floyd lately...
I am hoping to have my Frankenstrat finished before Christmas time. My present to myself.
Made ones before but never been overly satisfied with them. I am hoping this one will finally make me stop obsessing (who am i kidding...)
Floyd tribute band huh? dammit and i had to be on other end of country lol
If I were you I'd look into an AXE-FX Ultra and a valve power amp.
Definetly be my next purchase if I had the cashola.
I would not say a Hiwatt is essential for playing Floyd. I am fairly confident that one of those Laney valve heads would do a good job. Although a gazillion pedals play a part but the strat plays the most in the sound.
I still have to finish my Gilmour guitar I was building, just not had the time.
I would just like to add I am a keys player, so if ur doing any dates in scotland and u ever need a keys player, please don't hesitate to get in contact. Im sure u have plenty to choose from ha!
