Canadian singer/songwriter/musician, Stevie Gee, has taken the 1940's swing style of music to a new high with his soulful vocals and melodious guitar grooves. Stevie's passion for "swing" has grown since his days at the Ontario College of Art making him one of the most sought after artists in the greater Toronto area. After pursuing a career in the restaurant business and exploring music on the side for many years, Stevie formed the band "In The Pocket" during the burgeoning music scene in Parkdale in the early nineties, and in 2006, he became a full time musician taking the Toronto music scene by storm! Stevie credits musicians such as Ken Whitely for introducing him to the vast world of jazz. His influences include artists such as Michael Keith, Jimi Hendrix, Wynonie Harris, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye and Bobby Womack. He has collaborated with musicians such as Christopher Plock, Jef Kearns and Carson Freeman and is known for creating a loving atmosphere through his music whether singing his own original tunes or covers at weddings, supper clubs or Trane Studio. Stevie's latest projects include working on "Cool Babies" a children's CD by Joe Bartok, "The Level" by flautist Jef Kearns, original works by producer/guitarist Kenny V, his solo project "Stevie Gee Swing as well as collaborations with American poets and singers such as Tantra-zawadi, Tshombe and Dana Byrd.
