Steve Earle, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Richard Thompson, Johnny Cash, Phil Lynott an' a cast of thousands, 'cos as I wrote in a song on my first album an' if I was bein' philosophical then that was it. There are only three types of music: That what you like, that what you don't an' that what you ain't heard yet. Along with all that a damn good ale an' single malt whisky ....
Sounds Like
STEViE - One Bloke One Mandolin, tho you probably have your own thoughts on that one.
STEViE's music is gutsy, edgy and raw - a hardcore, barstool troubadour - with a voice as raw as cigarettes and single malt in a backstreet bar late on a Saturday night.
For the last eight years STEViE has been playing regularly at many motorcycle rallies and festivals all over the UK receiving some great reviews and picking up new fans at every gig.
The last few years he has, amongst many other gigs, regularly played/hosted marquees for The National Association for Bikers with Disabilities (NABD) Rally at Astle Park in Cheshire and is doing the same this autumn for them in Oxfordshire at NABD's Autumn NABDness rally.
He has supported Status Quo at the Bulldog Bash, played a couple of times at Bev & Chris Jackson's Americana festival and been a regular on the bill at the OGRI Rally and the MAG Farmyard Party. STEViE has also played at the Quay Vipers MCC's Snakebite Rally in Limavardy in Ireland, the Saints & Sinners Rally in Scotland, Westport's Folk & Bluegrass Festival in Ireland,
the Akaciju aleja bard festival near Kaunas in Lithuania
and a series of house concerts in Wales raising money for the fighting fund for Welsh Motorcycle Shows Ltd after both The Welsh International Motorcycle Show in Builth Wells and The Anglesey Bike Show were closed down with police intervention at a few days notice on each occasion with no evidence to back up the reasons given by both the Dyfed/Powys an' North Wales Police.
There's still a few more gigs listed for this year and there's bound to be more on the way, see you there maybe.
THEN (The history bit)
Raised on the south coast of England, Stevie played in a couple of rock bands trying (and sometimes succeeding) to write original songs. Moving to Reading he joined metal band IronHeart and it was around this time he discovered, through local rock show presenter Brian Pithers (R.I.P - Rock In Perpetuity mate), the music of Steve Earle.
After IronHeart he toured in the UK and France with hard rock band The Pack.
Taking a break from music when The Pack split, Stevie eventually joined country band Kane & Co. remaining with them for four years, touring throughout the UK, Germany and Poland, playing on major country festivals in the UK, Spain, France, Poland, Denmark, and Holland, and releasing an album along the way, recorded in Nashville, called ' Raising Kane' . On leaving Kane & Co. he formed Cactus Jack and toured with them extensively throughout Germany for two years whilst releasing two albums, including the highly acclaimed '...ain't nothin' like PRESSURE' of which he wrote a majority of the material.
Touring with Kane & Co. and Cactus Jack had meant missing many bike rallies and wishing to work solo with the mandolin (with the addition sometimes of harmonica) Stevie started gigging out on his own whilst still with Cactus Jack, opening out his repetoire playing the songs of Steve Earle, Townes Van Zant, Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention, Jimmy LaFave, The Proclaimers, Small Faces, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Alice Cooper !! and a good few more.
STEViE still plays some of the covers that have made him a well known fixture and favorite on the rally scene along with material from his solo albums ' .... a little further down the line', ' Too Poor For Trailer Trash ' and 'RIDE'

Trailer trash album was class enjoyed lisening to that! we just uploaded are 1st demo song vocal sound bit ill as i was il at the time, if you get chance let us know what you think
It'd be great if you can get along to The H-Bar-C gig ...... please remember to pack your instrument if you come 'cause you'll be welcome to sit-in & jam mate.
I usually have the reverse problem regarding vocals, they're usually too high in the mix, so this time I was going for a Foo Fighters style mix, where the vox sit a little more towards the back. But yes it's just a demo, as is all the stuff on my page, and will sort them out fully once the album's finished and get it mixed/mastered in a proper studio.
I really appreciate the feedback though, thank you :o)
Hey Stevie, You guessed correctly. Peter & Gordon indeed. They prompted me in you direction and I'm glad for it. Privileged to get to hear you here. Hopefully get to hear you live sometime soon also. Best always, Alex.
