Hey, sorry it took me awhile to get back - I'm not on here too much anymore. Unfortunately, I probably cant make it on Sat - Nate and I have had plans to go out to see UFC 100 that night for awhile now, so the timing just sucks, sorry.
I did hear about the Placebo show. Honestly, I probably wont go, mostly because it's in the main room at Sonar, which I hate, and also because of how terrible their new album is. I probably will go see The Horrors in the club room at Sonar in Sept though. BTW, I just saw Phoenix at the Rock and Roll Hotel - they were amazing!
Yeah, we'll probably go to that. At least it's in the club, not downstairs (like that horrible thing we went to there before). And Craig's the DJ, so that gives me some hope.
It's that time of year again! Instead of competing with my pal Jason Dove's birthday party this Saturday, I'm joining him!
At The Windup Space - 12 W. North Avenue, 9pm-2 am
Come see the premiere of the Jason Dove Diaries #10, and episodes 1-9!!
For those not familiar with the Diaries, they are series of short comedy films based on the true life experiences of musician Jason Dove.
I shot and edited the first one with Jason (as well as "The Lost Episode" which was never aired), and he has gone on to produce 9 more on his own! Here's the one I worked on:
On July 30th 2008, maverick (not like McCain, but more like, uh... the show Maverick) director Zach Morehouse (Charm City Rollergirls' TuffNerd #3.14FU) and his faithful assistant Jenn Litsinger (CCRG's Lois Angle #15 Degrees) packed up all the cameras they could grab and headed to Vegas for the 5 day skatefest known as Rollercon.
There they encountered blistering heat and even hotter skating action, as they madly scrambled around the city capturing as much as humanly possible (and some say even more) of this wild week with hundreds upon hundreds of rollergirls (and boys).
The preparations were last minute, the volunteer interleague crew assembled on location, and the schedule ever-changing, but against all odds they managed to bring you the finest moments in roller derby skating, training, and some of the wildest parties yet!
Hey, didn't mean to cut you off this morning, I realized I was late. Greg Gillis will be doing something completely diferent at Whartscape, he's in some kind of experimental duo. I'll find out more. Keep it gangsta!
