Stew is a gifted DJ playing various styles of dance music from underground house & Electro - Upfront Trance & Techno with everything inbetween. Stew Ewens was born in Cardiff, Wales in 1982 and has a great passion for music. It was during the early 90's Stew Came across electronic music, listening to his older brothers mix tapes and cds from the likes of carl cox, underworld, ministry, dreamscape, but it was after hearing Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel on radio 1 that the love affair with electronic music hit the spot.
Other early influences came from the likes of norman cook, judge jules & Pete Tong with his essential selection show and in geneal the love of being a clubber and the vibe the music created. Stew started out playing kids parties at a holiday camp in the south of France over the summer of 2002. Summer in Crete 2004 @The Booze Bar club was a key influence in shaping the attitude, style and education of this DJ playing 7 hour sets every night for four months. Since 2002 Stew has been DJing to crowds in various Different style & size venues playing many types of music and functions from Student union bars, weddings, mobiles, warm ups, weekly club residencies, international events, Open air events, radio events, self promoted events, club night events. It is since the year 2007 Stew has been building a loyal following playing at several of the main dance music brands playing alongside some of the the leading artists in the industry all over the UK at some of the most famous and biggest venues around including The Ritz, The Troxy, Evolution, Tall Trees, Warehouse, ministry of sound, many more playing a cutting edge sound, gaining great feedback from his sets and music from fellow djs and clubbers alike. Stew plays regularly on the UK circuit & ibiza as resident of brands afterdark, progression & when the rush comes events rocking dancefloors and continuing to develop new sounds with exciting times ahead for the boy hailing from the deep southwest. Stew's productions have gained support from some of the top artists in the industry such as JOHN O CALLAGHAN, DJ CHOOSE, TILLMANN URMACHER, ERNESTO & BASTIAN, MARK SHERRY, JUDGE JULES with radio support including anjunabeats worldwide show. His first collaboration " Future Shock " with Louk reaching the top 10 in the world DJ charts. With a keen passion in radio radio stew Has been broadcasting regular radio shows on several FM and net web based stations, worked at two Hospital radio stations Rookwood Sound in Cardiff & Hospital radio Plymouth recieving accolades, currently he presents shows on over a dozen FM & net radio stations in all corners of the globe, america, africa, asia, europe building a large fan base. As a dj, stew likes to include several elements of genres in his sets, keen to introduce a variety of styles to the audience whilst adding his slick dex & effects style of mixing to the crowd given the correct moment. Whether he's playing a melodic mix or and an upfront mix stew always feels at home with the music. Recently, stew has been leaving his mark on the uk scene rocking parties with slinky, afterdark, progression, kanya ibiza. Electroflex have been back in the studio following a break from gigging and recording with new track ‘Computer Virus’.
This is the first of a series of new releases for 2009, and what better day to start on than Liz’s Birthday!
‘Computer Virus’ is a live favourite. Anyone forced to work with computers will know how evil they are and this track is Electroflex’s response to Kraftwerk’s ‘Its More Fun to Compute’. It is a bouncy number with a serious bassline, sing-along chorus and a selection of curious samples.
