Stickman Records was founded in late '94 for the sole purpose of releasing and promoting the music of the norwegian band Motorpsycho. We discovered a few other great bands along the way and now, years later, we can look back on dozens of releases, from more than 20 bands, on both Stickman and Sticksister.
The mothership Stickman concentrates on good uncommercial independent rock in the broadest sense of the word. We have a definite weakness for weirdness, reflected in such releases as The Tussler soundtrack, the Matt Burt album and pretty much anything by HGH.
Two years after starting up Stickman, we founded the sublabel "Sticksister Records" which offers a forum for more pop and emo-oriented bands. These bands have their roots solidly in the 90's and we suspect that they appeal to a younger crowd than some of our Stickman bands.
We’re particularly proud to be able to work with some of our long-time heroes such as The Wedding Present, Radio Birdman and The Soundtrack of Our Lives.
**** Demo policy: yes, we accept demos although we are not actively on the search for new bands. However, we prefer getting a myspace link. We do our best to respond to as many bands as we can, but at this point we receive so many demos that it has become impossible to answer each and every one. So please don’t send us anything if you play a kind of music that we don’t release such as metal or hiphop!

Moin, moin (so sagt man doch in Hamburg, oder)! Bin Managerin der neuen, aufstrebenden Band "Kotzkarre", die sich die Finger im Studio blutig gespielt haben und nun ihr erste EP "Von Nasen und Vasen, von Lauben und Pflaumen" im Kasten haben. Wir sind auf der Suche nach einem Plattenlabel und finden, dass sich das musikalische Kleeblatt spitzenmässig in Euer Programm einfügen würde. Hier mal eine kleine Info:
Kotzkarre ist eine Band aus Magdeburg, bestehend aus Sänger Till, Gitarrist Thomm, Bassist Gysi und Drummer Gunter. Der Name ihrer ersten EP weist Parallelen zum Albumtitel eines Albums von Kettcar auf. 5 Songs im harten New-Manga-Metal-Stil wird diese erste Veröffentlichung der jungen Band enthalten. Live-Auftritte quer durch Magdeburg sind für den Herbst geplant.
Ich komm dann nächste Woche mal mit den Jungs und einer Crackpfeife vorbei. Dann machen wir den Deal dingfest, ne?
