We are Sticks And Stones, an instrumental hard-rock trio from San Francisco.
Our band is comprised of guitarists, Gretchen Menn and Mickael Tremel, and drummer, Sam Adato.
Gretchen and Mickael first met and started jamming in January of 2006. Having come from widely different musical backgrounds, we started exchanging knowledge—music theory in exchange for shred. Hours and weeks of geeking out later, we recognized that the inception phase of a band was already underway.
Sam Adato, the heavy-hitting, Bay Area drummer, expressed interest in the project, and Sticks and Stones was born.
On our new CD, Unbreakable Strings, we have 10 original tunes, plus a one-song tribute to two of our favorite bands: the Dixie Dregs's arrangement of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. While Sticks and Stones is a guitar-oriented, instrumental project, we are primarily focused with writing strong, solid music that is both accessible as well as interesting. We are influenced by artists such as the Dixie Dregs, Jeff Beck, Van Halen, Deep Purple, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Led Zeppelin, to name just a few.
We are loud; we are high-energy; and we love what we do. We hope you will enjoy it as well!
Well needless to say you just keep getting better each time I see you! The people of Nevada City were definitely treated to your kick ass brand of hard driven, face melting, instrumental explosion. I just love it! Here is a the link to the photos I took that evening. Please enjoy them as I am getting better about pics without flash, and there are a few I believe you will like. See you soon. Much Respect, Paul by yourstrulysticksandstones
It would probably fly in the face of the band's hard-driving, butt-kicking image, but really you could bill yourselves as "the band with the most attractive guitarist ever" - and yes, I am including the Wilson gal from Heart. And no offense to Mickael, but I'm not talking about him. Anyway, again, great set opening for BOC last night at Slims.
Forgive me, missed you last night. Damn! Got a bit crazy gearing up for Tahoe, this weekend. I will see you there Gretchen. Sticks and Stones I will see at the next gig, bank on it. I'm sure you guys kicked butt last night. I'll get the full scoop later. ROCK ON!, Paul
Hey guys looking forward to tonights show @ Slims! In the meantime I hope you enjoy these photos I took last month of Sticks and Stones @ The Mystic Theatre. I luv your sound. YOU ROCK! Peace. See you soon. Paul by yourstrulysticksandstones
