Beatles, Rolling Stones, Who, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Kinks, Sex Pistols, PIL, Blondie, 10cc, U2, OMD, Joy Division, David Bowie, Velvet Underground, Byrds, Doors, Coldplay, Travis, Neil Young, Blur, Kate Bush, T-Rex, Small Faces, Yardbirds, Jefferson Airplane, Radiohead.
There's been many underground/alternative bands and singers that have had an impact on me, and here's just a few: the various Andrew Savage projects, Man's Hate, Don Campau, Sack, Lord Litter, Steve Andrews/Bard of Ely, Attrition, Alien Planetscapes, Yximalloo, Big City Orchestra, Sonic Energy Authority, Sombrero Galaxy, The Rabbits Hat, Mystery Plane, Katharsis, Gypsy, Henk Wallays, The Third State, Craig Runyon, Bloo, Lives Of Angels, Bill Pritchard, Peyote, X-Ray Pop, Garden Of Delights, Sausage Failure, The Hitchcock Touch, E.S.P. Kinetic, Terry Gray, Len Liggins, Dave Asgrove, Passion Killers, Rattus Rexx, Crisis, Discharge, and, of course, Crass and Chumbawamba. Artists with an ethical, peace-loving, vegetarian lifestyle shouldn't be underestimated - regarding their influence on society.
About Paul Rance/Sticky Banana/Peace & Freedom Band
Luton-born Whaplode Drove recluse Paul Rance, founder of Peace & Freedom Press, and The Peace & Freedom Band, turns his veggie peace manifesto to some solo music offerings and collaborations with his old P&F Band buddies Andy Bruce, Angelo Gravity, and Andy Xport. The moody, enigmatic mystery that is Rance says: "I'll die trying to save the world, but I'm not trying to die - like so many others." Rance claims to be a lot angrier and disillusioned in his middle age, and has effectively turned his back on society, concentrating on animal welfare, environmental, and human rights issues, as well as his booksmusicfilmstv.com website, and Peace & Freedom Press. He's also interested in promoting ethical, creative people. Want a CD, book, DVD, video, etc. reviewed?
