Rogue Souljah Entertainment started in 2000 as an idea to be a non-profit organization specializing in Education through Entertainment. Joint founders, LaVelle Wilson and Bernard Avant were able to get the Company off the ground working 9 to 5 jobs, getting paid on a bi-weekly basis. Taking the advice of a local well-respected DJ named DJ Hideo, they set out to complete Radio Drops for all the Radio DJ's to get their voices heard. The Radio Drops started playing on the air earning Rogue Souljah some notariety in the streets. The success of the Radio Drops prompted them to compile all the drops along with their first single called "Hard Work" Produced by Fingazz, onto a Mixtape and give the people what they want. In 2003, Rogue Souljah Ent. put together its first Compilation CD with local artists hailing from all four regions of the Industry entitled "Gameggeddon Vol. 1, In The Beginning". The release was a success and earned them their first notch of Respect in the Inland Empire. Not satisfied, Rogue Souljah Ent's Stico and Da Bandit went back in the studio to record while still working at their jobs. This time with Inland Empire Producer/Engineer/Videographer "Crackajack"(Ivan Miller). Through hard work and traveling to many out-of-town events they were able to network with many Industry up and comers as well as a few Giants. Some of the Giants include Inland Empire Producer Fingazz, Aftermath artist Bishop Lamont, and L.A.'s former 100.3 The Beats Mixshow Coordinator DJ Hideo(Cali Untouchable, Bumsquad, and West Coast DJ Alliance). Some of the up and comers are Warner Bros. artist Jah Free, Lunch, and Sly Boogy. Rogue Souljah Ent. along with the efforts of Crackajack on the boards put together its first solo release called "Real Spit" Vol. 1. Featured were all the the aforementioned Artists and Producers including Rogue Souljah affiliates South Paw McGraw and T-Why of Key Krushin Productions, who is also featured on Real Spit Vol. 2. The success of Real Spit 1 landed Stico and Da Bandit an Investor, Rita Atkins of Ryn Ryn Productions, interested in helping them promote their music nationally. At the beginning of 2005 Stico and Da Bandit received 2 Inland Empire Music Awards at its 1st Annual Awards event for the single "On One" Produced by Dr. Stank. Through the efforts of Mrs. Atkins and Ryn Ryn Productions Stico and Da Bandit recorded their 1st Solo Album that is yet Untitled. Some of the feature artists on the album are Kurupt of The Dogg Pound, La La "Brown Pride's R&B Diva", and Diamonique of Homeless Nation. There is Production from J Wells, Battlecat and Richie Rich, and another I.E. veteran Producer named Dr. Stank. Due to lack of budget for Marketing and Promotions, the project was put on hold. To keep the Fire burning Stico and Da Bandit got back in the lab to create Real Spit Vol. 2. "In The Trenches", this time calling on the majority of their I.E. affiliates that embraced their hard work in the beginning. They called on long time friend DJ Hideo, who was the 1st DJ to play their music on a National Radio Station. Upon completion of 2nd Real Spit Mixtape/Album, Stico and Da Bandit were both given the Good news that they were going to be fathers which held up Production. The bittersweet happening that occured left the artist thinking both projects would be sitting awhile. In June of 2007 Stico and Da Bandit received a call from Mike Oronde Wright of Big Shot Music Group who was representing Imagination Records and had been following the artists since the release of Real Spit Vol 1. At this point, Stico and Da Bandit had 90% of an album/mixtape 90% complete so they were able to sit down with Mr. Wright and the CEO of Imagination Records. After weeks of meetings and negotiations Stico and Da Bandit signed a contract with the Independent label. They immediately went to work in the studio with the local hitmaker Fingazz and recorded a radio friendly single called "She's Hot" which featured a catchy hook and a new sound. The producer of the song, Fingazz instantly took a liking to the song and reccommended that the song be fully promoted and marketed as a hit. After one month "She's Hot" was on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts and playing in regular rotation in several cities in the Southern, Midwest and East Coast regions. The single was doing well and starting to play in limited rotation in the West Coast markets. Plans for shooting the video were in the works along with a Bay Area Tour when the unthinkable happened...The management of Imagination began infighting over questionable business practices and Stico and Da Bandit were left wondering if they had made the right decsion in signing with the company. The label failed to provide any of the promised and agreed upon resources, and violated every aspect of the contract they had developed. Stico and Da Bandit have since parted ways with the label and are still currently promoting their single "She's Hot". Recently they have continued collaborating with DJ Hideo who is actively working to promote the song and mixtape internationally through his efforts in Japan.
