With the Earth being as it is in these modern times, some would believe it's truly impossible to be passionate about such a sometimes called frivolous thing such as music. So many people and groups allowing themselves to be influenced and controlled by money, government, or giant corporations; unable to truly think or act for themselves anymore. Being compared with the likes of robots or machines, with which they cannot live without.
In these strange days it is important to reach inside ourselves and remember that we are flesh and blood, and that we have the means inside us to do whatever it is we want to do with our lives, with the hopes that it is a good thing which can somehow benefit mankind's existence. Well, folks, in a small northeastern U.S. city called Ellsworth, in the great state of Maine, there is a group of individuals with like-minded dreams of bringing their hearts, minds, and passion to the world in the form of music. With their voices and instruments they work to bring a smile to their audiences faces, and perhaps a tear or two of elation. They believe in feeling music, not just hearing it, and being moved by it's message and sound. And they will never cease in their mission of spreading passion back into a maimed, and sometimes discouraging, cruel world.
They are Stiff Whisker and the Driftwood Kids. Please listen with an open mind and soul.
Hear us Thursday nights on 100.3FM WKIT's HOMEMADE JAM
I wrote a comment on Ray Lamongtanes page telling him about you and how amazingly you cover his tunes. Noel thought they were your songs! I told Ray that he needs to check you guys out when he has some time and is back in Maine. I know he has a house near my home town so he must come back sometimes. Would that not be great! The thing is, is that he looks like everyone else so no one would recognize him! Let's stay hopeful. Peace Love and Music Ps I'm trying to get some folks together to go to the show on sat. Barb
Hey guys!!! Love your music. My friend Noel Walsh had one of your cd's laying around and played it for me. Love your sound and am trying to get him to go with me to one of your shows. I'm having my bday get together at his place on Fri night and one of the first cd's we are going to play is yours. Can't wait to see you live. Peace and Light Music Is Love Barb
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
XXX - If you meet the minimum qualifications as described above. Email a link for your MySpace Page and if applicable, a link for your website to: recordingartistsearch@gmail.com
Only send one email with your links. Due to the volume of responses normally received for these types of opportunities. After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.
