This one time event came together under the umbrella of Introvert Creative Group...
At that point in time Introvert had been doing 4 monthly spoken word open mics. With one of them (at the local Record X) they had local musicians perform interpretating the spoken word.
MEANWHILE Adrian also had been working with THE PHOENIX MOVEMENT (see myspace.com/thephoenixmovement). Because of the enjoyment of working with various, different musicians at the RECORD X introvert gigs he put together this one night event.
THIS EVENT along with experiences Adrian had with POST THOUGHT inspired the direction he has taken with his new group bLIND iNFANCY (see myspace.com/blindinfancy).
Scotty Irving, who played drums for this Stigmata Star Freak performance, has also been very succesful with his solo project Clang Quartet (myspace.com/clang quartet) which began while he was a member of GEEZER LAKE(myspace.com/geezer lake).

WHAT WAS IT LIKE?
How to describe....?
Sonic Youth with a guitarist more trained in jazz improvasation.... a bass player that's into funk.... a drummer that hits hard and hits right.... a viola player that was classically trained but was currently also starting to play w/an improvasational group that sounded middle-eastern yet indie... a voice that merged Christianity with Taoism and even managed to fit in John Cage's poetic explorations and some of his own work.

HOW DID IT COME TOGETHER?
Well... Maria and Adrian had worked together on THE PHOENIX MOVEMENT. Adrian knew Scotty from GEEZER LAKE and Scotty had been part of many of the Introvert spoken word open mics at RECORD X where they had musicians back them up. Rob Adrian knew from a local group together at the time called PERFO (Rob later left PERFO & joined the Apothacaries, after they disband he joined serka). Originally Alan Khan from PERFO as well was supposed to be the guitarist for Stigmata Star Freak, but had to cancel at the last minute. Adrian had been wanting to work with Micheal on something for some time, so he called him up at the last minute and offered him the gig, which he gladly accepted saving the day(!!!) and helping creating a beatiful night of improvasational "experimental gothic jazz" madness!
