The exhilaration that plows through you when you’ve got
the volume cranked up on a Stigmatic sound is the sensation
of catharsis. It’s what the band members feel, too, as they
rip through a set of blistering songs. Metal means “relief,” says Tim,
one of Stigmatic’s guitarists. His band mates – Alex (vocals),
Burrow (guitar) Steve (Bass) and Casey (drums) – would agree.
Alex elaborated by explaining that “the best way
to describe our feeling is that when you work 9 to 5
every day for years, you need to let out all that frustration
– we do that through our music.”
The Artist at Work
Stigmatic has been a part of the Atlanta Horrorfest
for three years running. The group has opened for
Soilent Green, Warbringer, Halo oF Locusts, Ventana, Green Jelly, Psyopus, Helltrash, Hell Within, Tony Danza
and the Tap Dance Extravaganza, DestroyDestroyDestroy
and others. In addition, this band – which is always growing
and fine-tuning its incredible sound – has recently brought
even more depth to its already heady metal with the
addition of its newest member Steve on bass. Stigmatic is scheduled
to finish work on a new full-length album in the near future.
“We are a hard-working, reliable band that takes our
shows very seriously,” says Alex. “As long as we
are having fun, we are going to keep doing what
we are doing.” Stigmatic is currently looking for new management and artist development.
-The song "Shed My Skin" has been
featured on compilation albums with bands such as
Arch Enemy, Caliban, Himsa, Every Time I Die, Still Remains,
Chimaira, Walls of Jericho,PsychoStick, and Devine Heresy.
Stigmatic is now a two time 2008 Nashville Metal Award recipient
