The Words Are For...


My Evil Ways:

The Newborn called STILL ILL let out its first cry of anger during the beginning of anno 2006. Main man (singer L. Garbage) was growing increasingly frustrated with his easy-going jet-set lifestyle and thought it was time to look for some trouble. Years of experience told him that the best way to achieve this was to start up a band.

The first members to join the group were old associates of LG, guitarist Hemi and drummer Burt Schibulanski, but no matter how hard LG tried to shake his tambourine there was still something lacking in the overall sound. New recruits were found: Carlos took up the low-frequency-terrorism duty and Mr. Hyde takes care of stealth-sweep-operations. Both are top notch musicians – or at least so they claim!

Somehow the group managed to stay together until the release of their first demo on the first of May, which just happens to be the official grand day out for every major fuckup in Finland. Coincidence?

After this, in the summer of ’06, Hemi wanted to finally do something useful with his life and jumped off the bandwagon. STILL ILL had to carry on as a quartet. It was clear that two guitars were essential for the band’s sound but after a brief pow-wow they decided to record a new demo before looking for a suitable replacement. STILL ILL played their first tentative gig in Boothill, Helsinki. Since the sound guy ruined the show by turning the guitar down, they could see that a second guitarist was needed immediately. One could keep the song going while the other bashed the living shit out of the miscreant!

Eventually a new guitarist was found during the recording of the new songs. Obi-1 came to greet his so-called-friend Mr. Hyde and was forced to play a couple of solos for the songs. After empty promises of fame and glory Obi-1 was persuaded to wield his light saber in the band as a regular member.

The second demo, surprisingly called ”2nd Demo”, was finished and ready to spread the Gospel of STILL ILL on the X-mas Eve 2007.

New songs were recorded during 2008 - 2010, and the mad spiders played a couple of gigs in Helsinki area as well. In 2010, Carlos was replaced by Lars Lizard as bassplayer. And now... YOU’VE BEEN WARNED, STILL ILL IS UNLEASHED! COVER YOUR BACK AND GIVE ’EM A GIG!!
