RUGGIERO has had a varied career. After 13 years in law enforcement, he began to realize his creative side and started to explore his life-long interest in photography. RUGGIERO’S tenacity got him opportunities that most people would not have been able to achieve. Through his contacts in the industry, he was introduced to world-renowned still photographer HASHI who hired him as part of his team. RUGGIERO accompanied HASHI to Japan on assignment, learning his craft while working for companies such as Shiseido Cosmetics and Dentsu Advertising. Upon his return to the States, RUGGIERO was hired by legendary fashion and beauty photographer Francisco Scavullo. Scavullo is best known for shooting the covers of Cosmopolitan Magazine for over twenty-five years. RUGGIERO became Francisco's first assistant and ran the studio for approximately two years. This experience afforded RUGGIERO the unique opportunity to meet and work with many of the top names in the modeling and movie industry. Some of the people he had the honor to work with are Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Barbra Streisand, Bill Cosby, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Paulina Porizkova. Since then, RUGGIERO has been a freelance fashion and beauty photographer; he has run two New York based modeling agencies and was in charge of acquisitions at Silver Screen Productions. Currently, RUGGIERO is President of his own company, STILL MOVING PICTURES, and is a producer at UNITED SPIRITS, Inc. Ruggiero has time and time again demonstrated ability for seizing the moment. Adds RUGGIERO, "My experience in the fashion world provided a must-have focus for directing and further production. The fashion world is always about what's current and you must have your finger on the pulse of what the next big thing is. In a very real sense, the same applies to the movie industry. It's very much about what's happening next"

. RUGGIERO’S creative ability and interest in movie production has led him into directing. His experience as a fashion and beauty photographer has given him the ability and insight to understand angles and lighting, and how to make an actor or model feel comfortable in front of the camera. He recently had the honor to work alongside Mr. Dan Petrie Sr. Dan's credits include such major film projects such as “A RAISIN IN THE SUN” and “FORT APACHE, THE BRONX”. RUGGIERO also has recently directed two new films for Moonscape Entertainment, Inc. entitled “LOVES DEAD END” and “LIGHT UNDER A ROCK”. Both productions have been screened selectively around the country as have received positive feedback.

JAMES A. RUGGIERO sensed an immediate opportunity for a documentary on the last performance of the longest running show in the history of Broadway. When the legendary Off-Broadway play “THE FANTASTICKS” ended its 42 year run, Executive Producer and Producer RUGGIERO personally knew the show's associate producer, Tony Noto, and within hours had negotiated a deal to film the final show as well as the final cast party, attended by actors from its many years of performances.
For most of his life and professional career, RUGGIERO has always been able to sense the opportunities. "That's what a good producer and photographer should be able to do," he says, "If they can't they sense a good opportunity then there in the wrong business. After all, timing is everything."

One of my companies GOOOAL!!!Along with my partners Michael Romo, Gibran Burchet are working on a project with FIFA. FIFA is the world soccer world cup witch will be held in South Africa this coming spring. Our company GOOOAL!!! Along with members of our government the President and Congress is trying to help us bring water to parts of Africa. I was there recently and found out that over 35,000 children die everyday. One child is to many. So we have been working to put a soundtrack together with various artist To stop the childern from dying, and bring them clean water to drink and water to wash themselves. The goal of this project is the creation of GOOOAL which will bring the FIFA World Cup mobile application for the FIFA World Cup Organization. The application soundtrack will feature music from 25 artist each representing the country of the teams in the FIFA tournament. The soundtrack will feature a variety of different music genres. Proceeds derived from the sales of the application will assists the 1 St GOOOAL organization in educating children by building of schools, providing proper housing, clean drinking water, food. soap to wash clothing, hands and utensils and bring clothing to many underprivileged children in various parts in Africa. In addition a portion of the proceeds will be given to Yele a non-profit organization founded by multi-platinum producer Wyclef Jean. So that is a bit of how I'm staying busy and try and help and do my part.
