Stillseed has done a lot of evolving over the years leading to a heavier and more progressive sound. Though it seemed the new direction of music would make the band pursue as much as possible, unfortunately for now the name of Stillseed is dormant. Lead guitarist Denys Lemire who has been the main song writer for the band since after their 2005 release states that he takes full accountability for the decision of the band taking a long leave of absence.

"We haven't played a show since the summer of 2008. I honestly cannot say when to expect Stillseed to fully join back together for shows, writing, and recording. I may be involved with some of the members in other projects that I'm currently doing. As for any of the members that I may not be performing with, I truly wish them the best with their musical endeavors."

Denys had recorded one of the last songs that was written for Stillseed called "Sommeil Éternel" around Feb/March of this year. With permission from the band it has been put up on the page just to show a little of something that has been done since they had last recorded. Though no lyrics had been recorded, there is a more symphonic sound to it as the initial plan was to eventually add a keyboardist into the mix.
