Still Surfin’ was formed in the spring of 2000 by Matthew Grose, the bands lead singer. Matthew’s life long love of the Beach Boys unique sound (surf guitar rock and roll with lush five part harmonies) led to the creation of Still Surfin. The band members spent months learning to imitate the vocal styles and nuances of the Beach Boys deceivingly complex music. All that work paid off and has resulted in a tribute show with authentic costuming, audience participation, great choreography, heavy spring reverb surf guitar and songs that everyone knows.
Still Surfin’ wears the same blue and white strip shirts and plays the same white Fender guitars that the Beach Boys used during their shows in the early 1960s. A Still Surfin’ show is also filled with the history of not just the Beach Boys, but of the roots rock and roll.
Today, Still Surfin brings what Matthew calls the sound of summer to audiences from coast to coast. The Beach Boys music is the embodiment of an American summer. The sound of the soaring falsetto voice over Brian Wilsons incredible arrangements is a part of American culture. Still Surfins family oriented show gets everyone up singing and dancing to their favorite songs!
