The band Still Tickin formed when Rich Budde (vocalist/guitarist from Waterloo, Ia) met up with Derek Marlowe (drummer from Cedar Rapids, Ia) while Rich was at Kirkwood Community College. The two immediately formed a musical bond. They would jam writing songs here and there. The summer of 2006 they found Ben Harmon (guitarist/vocalist from Cedar Rapids, Ia) and all hell broke loose. Constantly writing and learning new material, playing their first show at Fourth and Main in Cedar Falls. They played a couple of shows after that without bass guitar and needed more sound. Josh Way (bassist/vocalist from Waterloo, Ia) was soon recruited to fill the sound. They wrote some more songs, played some more shows, drank a lot of beer. Come to a show, and you’ll just see. Rock and Roll the way it should be. Influences range from Johnny Cash to early Foo Fighters. Check them out next time they are around, just be ready for a RIOT. First full length to be recorded summer 2008.

For some reason, I keep thinking it's Wednesday. Not sure if I'll watch the All-Star Game tonight. Trying to figure out some ideas to do with my sons during the day as the weather has been too nice to keep them inside all day long. Hmmm. Maybe we'll hit the beach or something like that. I guess that beats running with the bulls. Have a great Tuesday!
Hope today is not too much of a manic Monday for you! Sorry for the lack of comments... was enjoying the summer weather and celebrating the end of the season with my son's baseball team. Talk about a great party. Anyway, I hope you have an amazing week and get some chances to enjoy the summer weather. Take Care. I have to make sure I have dinner ready.
Enjoy your weekend with a sizzling Saturday. Nothing exciting planned for me, but I might start doing some research for my fantasy football leagues. It is around the corner. Have some fun and relax a little bit! I know I might be slacking a little bit. Make sure you stay safe on the roads if you have a couple of drinks!

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
Breezin thru, good lookin out.
