Country clubs, Yachts on a Marina in Cannes, Bluebirds, Champagne, a box of Swiss chocolates, your prized romantic novel, dancing with strappy vintage Disco heels, this is the Stimulator lifestyle and they want to share it with you.
Take the groove and essence of classic Disco, mix it with Easy Listening California melodies and add quirky nuances of European Pop and you have the ingredients for Stimulator’s second album - Stimulator 2.
This musical trio consists of singer/songwriter Susan Hyatt (Pillbox), drummer extraordinaire Chad Stewart (Faster Pussycat/Motochrist/Gilby Clarke) and bassist Sean Tichenor (James Angell/King Black Acid).
The band enjoyed success touring with childhood heroes Duran Duran, the Go-Go’s, Missing Persons, Berlin. Songs were licensed to TV shows such as NBC’s “Las Vegas,” MTVs “Real World,” the Disney Film “Ella Enchanted.” Stimulator’s song “Let’s Hook Up’ was the theme song for E Entertainment’s “50 Hottest Hollywood Hook-ups.”
All accomplished musicians, Stimulator recorded their debut album in former guitar player Geoff Tyson’s bedroom. Their first single “78’ Stimulator” was released on the Org Singles Club UK label. Kevin Lyman handpicked the band to play the WARPED Tour after hearing their song “On Top of the World” had won the Best Rock Song in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. The band did brave and unpredictable covers such as Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” for Canada and Olivia Newton John’s “Magic” for special Australian releases. Their animated/live action video for “Magic” featured a cameo by singer Cherie Curry from the classic all girl rock group the Runaways. Shortly the band were signed to the LAB/Universal Records; but soon after opening Duran Duran’s 2005’ “Astronaut Tour,” their record label became defunct and the band took a break.
Susan then reached out to the fans, and this album was recorded entirely from the funding of Fan Donations!
So break out the bubbly, blast your new sparkly Stimulator 2 CD, close your eyes and boogie until the sun sets - doesn’t it feel like love?
