Wreck of the Hesperus * De Novissimis Split 10 Inch Stitchy Press 004 12 Euro
Finally after many twists and turns this record is ready to be
unleashed, featuring two of Dublin's heaviest bands: Wreck of the
Hesperus, filthy-sewer-sludge-stripped-down-raw-doom and De
Novissimis, a powerfull wall of dual vocal crust doom with added blast
beats. The recordings on this album are exclusive one-off tracks and have already
become rare. This might be one of the heavist Irish records ever
released!
"DeNov are primarily concerned with doom, although they don't half love a bit of crusty hardcore, with a bunch of full-on blasty moments thrown in seemingly from out of nowhere. They toy with various vocal styles; one guy does guttural, one guy does a piercingly weird shriek, and the effect reinforces the unpredictable nature of it. WOTH's older albums were totally filth-encrusted doom recorded in a biscuit tin with the biscuits still in it, and while the track they've contributed is the best sounding one they've done, it's still mercilessly muddy and depressing as a result. Great release all round."

Sea Dog LP Stitchy Press 003 12 Euro
The first LP from these Stab City Rockers. A testament to their
"Having a good time, all the time" attitude. Come enjoy a heavy dose
of guitar rock and provide some worship for the riffage. 6 songs of
pure instrumental hard rock grooves. The record that keeps on giving!
Take a visit to the underwater enchanted world of Sea Dog's myspace page.
"Upon reflection, we have heard a shockingly
small number of Irish musicians
lately, so we were fairly jazzed to dig
into Sea Dog’s Wizards of the Coast
LP (Stitchy Press), and it’s a pip. Classic
instrumental trio thud with nods to
doofs as disparate as Sir Lord Baltimore
and Wishbone Ash. We have a feeling
Mr. Joseph Carducci would approve." - Bull Tongue Column Arthur Magazine
"The titles really tell the story: What do you call a technically
proficient metal song with a lo-fi bottom end? "Cave Mustaine"! If you
like old school metal but hate the super douche posturing that comes
with it, then this six-song instrumentalonslaught from Ireland is for
you". –Jim Ruland Razorcake Magazine

The Ghastly Grimey Orchestra of New Orleans CD Stitchy Press 001 12 euro
The Ghastly Grimey Orchestra was drawn together in the hot summer
of New Orleans in 2002. Inspired by Edward Gorey's
illustrated alphabeth, "The Gashlycrumb Tinies,"
the orchestra composed 26 songs.
From elevator shafts, to haunted warehouses,
to the living rooms of shotgun houses, the orchestra played. On theramins and chattering teeth, accordians
and busted children's toys, the orchestra played. Time flies as it does and the years swallowed
up master tapes and memories and time, mostly time...but finally now, we present this long awaited cd. Featuring musicians
from Impractical Cockpit, Uke Phillips, Oak, and Boneyard Witch.

Who I'd like to meet: "The worst news is the fear. A couple who are his friends, he tells me, threw their books into their wood stove. One by one, all their books: a ritual of the times. They began with Lenin and finished off with Alice in Wonderland . When there was nothing left to throw in the fire, it was like a fever: they broke up all their records. Afterward she burst out crying in a corner, her face to the flames." Eduardo Galeano
News travels fast - yes, Leitrim watch out, here we come. Good to know we'll find you there. Thanks for the add. (Do you think Leitrim's ready for medieval bagpipes and hurdy gurdy yet?)
