About me: So amidst all of my journeys in the past seven months, I have returned to Illinois for good from Ireland. I finished off the classroom portion of my MA at the University of Limerick in County Limerick, Ireland. Now I have the dubious task of further research on my dissertation and actually writing the required 18,000-20,000 words for the grand essay. I’m writing the dissertation from a cultural studies perspective about Disney and if you know me that shouldn’t be a surprise.
The plan is to move into Chicago in the fall. Wish me luck that I find a decent enough job! I’ll also be keeping up on my own writing, namely the beginnings of a screenplay centered on characters who are study abroad students in where else but Ireland. :-)
Who I'd like to meet: Writers, filmmakers, musicians, professors and students of English related studies, and anyone looking for a good conversation, or a good time (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), just kidding...no seriously.
thanks man! well yeah, you didn't see me on Sunday or Monday. yes, wreck. but it'll all be over Wed. night thank god! well yes, the cake was blissful! glad you could make it out!
maybe she was confused with what bookstore it was, but she knows you from the bank she said too. she knew you went to school in ireland. ? she said that she talked to you at our wedding too. She's my best friend's mom - she said she didn't know you really well, but enough to know you went to school in ireland. weird.
Hey, I did not know that you knew Marilee Rathunde, she said from Crown Books? did you work there before? We saw her new year's eve and she was asking how you were. small world. Hope you had a great holiday.
Well we just finished Christmas! :) What with my brother's stupidly busy schedule we celebrated way early. But worked for me, it was actually closer to MY holiday! :) Glad yer first day went okay! Have only had a chance to listen to a couple tunes. Last week was so crazy and it's sitting on my bed in Chicago right now. :( But I liked the 3 or so I heard! You have a good Christmas too!
Very cool! Best of luck with the screenplay! And yes, we should get together for "coffee" or tea or a more adult beverage! Glad to hear you're doin well! And I hope you CAN come to the New Year's bash, it should be good craic. ;)
