No, I think it's an exclusively American holiday. I could really use a holiday or two right now, though.. studying requires a heck of a lot of time, and living in a city is getting under my skin, big time. I can't even seem to find spare time for anything except a couple of basketball games a week, since it's probably one of the most relaxing things to do. Most of the time, I even go to sleep right after I get back from college and wake up at ~2AM just to watch NBA. It's like living in a totally different timezone.

Can you believe that Tim Thomas is actually one of the best Mavs in our recent games? And no, it's not because other Mavs are playing bad, it's because TT is beasting. Playing D, hustling for rebounds, scoring from the post. In the last game, he grabbed an offensive rebound and dunked over three Rockets players, lol. Howard does and says some stupid things from time to time, but as long he doesn't damage the Mavs' chemistry(which is excellent atm), I don't care all that much. Can't wait for the injured Mavs to return, though the bench has been playing very well. It feels so weird and good seeing the team actually giving an effort on defense this year.

Mavs have been playing really well and are 9-3 despite a ton of injuries(Dampier, Howard, Marion missed 2, 11 and 4 games respectively). Dirk's been so clutch, it's ridiculous: 29pts in the 4th against Utah, game-winning shot against Bucks, 23 pts in the 4th & OT(combined) against the Spurs... quite amazing stuff. For once, they're actually winning games with defense instead of just outscoring the opponents.
Why'd you even care all that much, though? ;) Any of those processors is good enough for every day use to say the least.
8800GTX 768mb, which was a high-end graphics card at the time. My processor was somewhere in the upper mid-range, so it worked as an ideal combination. Even though the cpu(Athlon 6000+) is basically like Intel's C2D 2.2, it's still good enough for mid/high settings for most games b/c of the 8800gtx. I checked out benchmarks for HD4670, and it's good. Should run the latest stuff on mid/high settings.

Oh, and Dampier is a bastard. It's his contract year and every Mavs fan is like 'where has he been all those years?' because he's actually playing defense, blocking, rebounding & shit.
What I'm trying to say is, you'd get more out of a pc with a better video card/slightly less powerful processor than with the current configuration. You could pretty much max out Nba 2k10, but the one you're going with prolly won't be able to handle anything above medium settings. Have you really decided on the video card?

It never struck me that Martin has been injury prone, but now I checked out his numbers, and suddenly realized where you're coming from. I drafted him with my 40-something-th pick... I just couldn't pass up, you know. Damn.
But what's the point of getting it if the processor won't be ever able to use it's full power? The video card is a bottleneck in this case when it comes to gaming, and outside of gaming, triple/quad cores = overkill. Seriously, my own dual core is the equivalent of Intel's 2.2 and it barely ever reaches 20% cpu usage. Dual cores can handle anything the average user may throw at them, so unless you're planning to run some heavy, heavy shit, there's no point in getting one.

I'd personally opt for a slightly cheaper processor and use the leftover money on a better graphics card, because that one would be a bottleneck for the processor running video games, meaning you wouldn't be able to make use of its full power, ever.

Brooks was a smart pick, I seriously considered taking him myself, because the Rockets simply don't have any other scorers. I'm okay with my team as well, though it doesn't look as good the one I drafted last year, which was leading the league for most of the season. My best pick so far is probably Marc Gasol: 19/12 + 7ftm, 1 blk & stl. Also, I recently picked up Frye, who seems to be thriving in PHX.

Loving what Marion is bringing to the Mavs game so far, I watched all 3 games. Can't wait for Howard to come back & provide some real depth at sg/sf. Oh, and Drew Gooden fucking sucks. I've no idea how he managed to put up all those stats the years before, and they certainly don't reflect his impact(or lack thereof) on the game. He's a poor man's Zach fucking Randolph.

Gallinari has tons of potential, he was putting up very impressive stats here in Europe. Not even Manu, Nocioni or Bargnani were that good at their early stages of careers. Howard wasn't an issue until last year, when he missed 30 games(career high) plus played injured against the Nuggs. Mavs really need his scoring, and size on d. I'm gonna watch them go against the Lakers tonight, heheh.. I've read that LAL played terribly their first game, so there's some hope. ;)

Mavs season opener was horrible, no D at all, and without Howard, the offense was lacking, too. At least Marion showed that he's a good fit here running along Kidd, hustling for offensive rebounds & stuff.

You seem to be really short on blocks and ridiculously good at 3ptm, like my team is at ft%(most of the players shoot in 80% range, lol).
I don't really know what to make of my team as of yet, as I got many players with some upside. I kinda like it, I managed to draft many of the players I've been targetting without 'overpaying' for them, though I really wanted to get 8-10 pick and try to draft Durant... you got a steal there, I tell you. Dude's gonna put up Kobe/Dirk worthy stats this seasons.
If doesn't require a lot of time(my studies aren't exactly easy) and isn't annoying, I might give it a try. I really want a PS3, but don't have the cash for games... is it possible to get 50 bucks a month after some time?
Yeah, I guess it's a very awkward situation for Knicks fans, looking forward for the season to end when it hasn't even started yet, hahah. The offseason is going to be pretty exciting for you, though. It's similar to Mavs in a way, because we really need at least one more piece to be able to win a 7 game series against Lakers & the likes, and it most probably won't come to us untill we deal Dampier's huge instant expiring contract next summer. So yeah, it's likely that this season won't be any different than the last one, ending in an another early playoff exit... By the way, have you seen the Mavs new alternates? Both Euroleague & NBA start in a week, FUCK I can't wait. Mavs are going to be either a borderline 50 win team or break into the elite, depending on how well Marion & Gooden mesh with the rest of the team. Marion had some of his most productive seasons playing along Kidd in PHX, so I really hope he can do his thing again. One thing is for sure: they're gonna run'n'gun like crazy this year; at least they should be a pretty fun team to watch.
