Smooth to the bone, St. Louis Slim represents the bridge between blues and jazz. He started playing blues music in Missouri and adopted New Orleans swing jazz when he moved to Louisiana.
Smooth to the bone, St. Louis Slim represents the bridge between blues and jazz. He started playing blues music in Missouri and adopted New Orleans swing jazz when he moved to Louisiana and joined up with The New Orleans Jazz Vipers. He still incorporates much of the blues in his style of swing jazz, which perhaps is indicative of the close connection between the two. Slim played two nights of the jazz festival, one of which was his current swing jazz setup while the other goes back to his Delta blues roots.
St. Louis Slim has performed live in The French Quarter on Bourbon Street at Tricou House, Funky Pirate, Fritzel's, and at The Spotted Cat on Frenchmen Street.
