Stone/Bratt Big Band Recording Session 1
November 18, 2007
About the band:
The Stone/Bratt Big Band is a 17-piece group comprised of some of the Chicago area's top young jazz musicians and co-lead by drummer, Doug Bratt and saxophonist/composer, Doug Stone. Significantly, the band features music that is original, unpublished and crafted by members of the group. On a given evening, a listener will hear this dynamic aggregation flex its muscle by burning through an up-tempo modal excursion; digging into a bluesy, straight-ahead swinger; or daringly walking the tightrope of free improvisation.
The band has recently released their first album entitled, Stone Bratt Big Band. The album is available for purchase in "hard copy" form at CD Baby, and for download at
, Amazon.com and other major online music retailers. You may also email us directly for purchasing information.
The Stone/Bratt Big Band performs for concert series, jazz festivals and clinics/workshops for high schools, colleges and universities throughout the year. For bookings, please contact either Doug Bratt or Doug Stone for more information. Also, because this project is a labor of love, finding creative ways to fund recordings and commission new works is a priority. If you're a part of a foundation, corporation or other entity whose mission it is to support creative endeavors in the arts, we'd love to hear from you!
