Stonehoney serves up a home-cooked soul stew of good time, American music with plenty of sweet vocal harmony to spare. What started as a "songwriters in the round" quickly became something bigger and better than the sum of its parts. Veteran musicians Shawn Davis, Phil Hurley, David Phenicie and Nick Randolph create something special together in the blend of their voices and depth of their songs. A new sound has emerged that transcends genres and blends elements of country, folk and rock into a unique new sound that is both fresh and yet somehow achingly familiar.
"One of my favorite aspects of this band is that everyone seems to feel invited in by our music, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens" says lead guitarist, vocalist Phil Hurley. "It's like there's something for everyone."
Equally at home on the concert stage, rocking a honky-tonk or in the comfortable confines of a house concert, Stonehoney has the rare ability to adapt their set list and sound to their environment. Strong showings at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, TN in both 2008 and 2009 have lead to bookings at Sisters, Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals as well as the Old Settlers Music Festival while at the same time Stonehoney continues to rock out clubs from The Knitting Factory and The Mint in Los Angeles, to Park West in Chicago to Tootsie's and the Billy Block Show in Nashville.
Stonehoney relocated to Austin, TX in the winter of 2009 and are already earning enthusiastic support from the inspirational music scene that is unique to the Lone Star State. They are currently recording what will be their first official record (to be released this Spring) and finalizing plans for their summer tour which will take them from Southern California to up-state New York.
The power that comes from the quadruple lead singer assault of Stonehoney is a force of nature. The beauty of the music is rivaled only by the genuine personalities of the guys: great playing, great singing, great songs, great people!

"Rarely, if ever, will you see a band that showcases this many talented songwriters in one place. Stonehoney songs have such a long shelf life, that months later your car stereo will break down and beg you to remove the CD."
