Stoneleaf
Andrew Allsopp – Bass,
Gary Godridge – Drums,
Rick Taylor – Vocals/Guitar.
Stoneleaf are a three piece rock band from the North-East of England. They formed in 1998, have released two studio albums and are currently recording material for a third.
Their music has been likened to Pearl Jam, Muse, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana and various other bands by the national press but Stoneleaf remain a difficult band to pigeon-hole due to their genre spanning music ranging from abrasive punk to sweeping ballads. A recent Rock Midgets review referred to their music as ‘thinking mans anthems’ and an NME review of their last London show described the performance as ‘A muse-like maelstrom – a post grunge barrage of flying guitars and crunchy bass that nods towards Alice in Chains and has the crowd rinsing the sweat from their shirts afterwards’.
In 2001 Stoneleaf were awarded the title ‘Best UK Unsigned Rock band’ in a nationwide Sennheiser sponsored competition. Since then the band has toured and played for audiences from the Scottish highlands to Nice, France, in tiny bars to huge festival stages, with bands including Stiff Little Fingers, GUN and Maximo Park. Their music has appeared on various DVD’s including ‘Cold Rush: A Scottish surfing film’, ‘Sibling Rivalry’ an unauthorised Oasis documentary from Chrome Dreams, a HIM documentary, also from Chrome Dreams and a South American surfing film from Tyler Bliss entitled ‘Centro: solo locales’.
Stoneleaf recently became involved with Oceanstorm Films and are currently working on music for the film ‘Hotel Caledonia’. Directed by Nicholas David Lean and starring Kelly Brook and Kris Marshall, Hotel Caledonia is a comedy horror set in Scotland. A second film project entitled 'Hard Shoulder', also from director Lean, will include an exclusive track from Stoneleaf entitled 'Butterfly Wings'. The third album from Stoneleaf entitled 'Existence' is coming soon!

We inspected the message attached to your friend request with a fine tooth comb to make sure it was the best message ever to send to you!
We made sure Amy, our manager had slashed the 't's and dotted the... lower case 'j's. She then lit a candle and a hush fell over the band as she clicked the 'add to friends' button.
When we saw that you had become our friend, we all cheered and had a wonderful celebration! Booze was drunk & beautiful women were embraced - all in your name! We hope you enjoy being our friend as we think it's pretty cool that we're now yours! You totally rock in our book!
It would be great if you could check out our tunes and keep your eye out for gig dates in your area!

Thank you very much for becoming our friend. Good to have you with us. We always need help and support for the cause to which we have dedicated ourselves. It is an unfortunate but very real fact that predators exist and they pray on the innocent children of the world. They need you. As ever, it is the musicians who come to the aide of the helpless and become a voice for them. So come and have a listen to the great artists and bands who have become our friends. Stay in touch with us, spread the word, let your friends know and their friends in turn about our campaign.
Enjoying Existence, great track. Do me a favour and look at my profile, click on the Rock Against Child Pornography banner. It really is a worthy cause and they need all the support they can get. Good luck with the new music. Jim
