Praise for Stone Lucy
"Propelled by Adam Parker’s immensely-likable vocals, Stone Lucy chases a sister muse of Tool and Soundgarden, with a youthful verve and a proggish swagger" -Lexi Kahn, Low Budget Super Hero.
"Stone Lucy is a Richmond rock band that has been creating music since September of 2005, and its chugging riffs and psychedelic time changes contain strong similarities to prog-rock powerhouse band Tool...the four-piece group shares "a commitment to making intense hard-rock music that is bereft of trends," and last September played a Darfur benefit show, proving that they are socially aware as well" (Ricmond.com).
"As we enter 2007, it’s time to consider the varied ways to calculate the success of a local rock band. There are the classic ways; the number of shows a band plays, the number of people in the crowd and the number of people buying the band’s merchandise. Then there is the number of MySpace “friends” accrued by a band and the number of times its songs have been played therein. By any of these measures, Richmond’s Stone Lucy is a burgeoning success. But by the most revealing measure – the number of Stone Lucy stickers on bumpers on Honda Civics around town – the band is gigantic" (Richmond-Times Dispatch).
The idea: “This group of songs is lyrically a group of random snapshots, instances and experiences that I’ve been connected to or involved with over the past 2 years. The 7 songs differ in topic and are sung from different perspectives, yet they are all interpretations of a unified reality. Altered interpretations. And there are lots of references to emotions from reactions to surroundings, but not always tangible items or particular events. And so unlike Syndicated Summer which was more a biography of Daryl, this is much more of an autobiography.
But the real beauty of it is that without the inspiration of the music which often drives me to self analyze, these words certainly wouldn’t exist as they are. And if they still did exist exactly as they were written, then I don’t feel they alone would carry the same emotion as they do set to music. So what I’m getting at is that this makes the four of us a unified Messenger (or Storyteller), and the altered interpretations of a personal reality in a sense become our shared hallucinations.”
- Adam Parker, culled from his notes to the band

Hey. Thanks for stopping by guys. You all sound great. We aren't playing at the festival this year though. I did call Johnny Mo about it, but he said they didn't have room. Maybe next year.
Whats up fellas? I am checking in from my obscurity in the deep south. My alchemy has led to the framework of a band, and I am auditioning a few more people to hopefully get my final members, so that we can all begin to make music. I am very excited to hear about the new EP and really looking foreward to it. I extend to all of you, my friends, my warmest reguards and innermost well wishings. Stone Lucy's music is still the only way I can attract musicians to the cause, so I am definately indebted to you guys. Not to mention it's just plain good music. That helps as well. Once I get my shit together and my project on wheels, I will be more than happy to swap some shows with you guys, and share some down home Southern Hospitality. Keep rocking Richmond.
Hey everyone. the word BROWN wants to thank all of our new friends. We don't make a habit of sending out mass comments but we just want to welcome all the newcomers. Our debut album is being mastered as we speak and will be released this summer. Thanks again. Nate
Hey guys, It was fun in Fairfax Saturday with you guys. Enjoyed sharing the stage once again. Looking forward to doing it at The Camel at the end of the month. We posted "Rail Runs Over" off the new CD...I know that Will has been dying to hear some. Myspace degrades the quality, so we'll get you a CD. 'Till next time Gadget,
Good luck with your show tomorrow night gents. Sorry we can't make it as we will be playing too. Tell Parker to be sure he shows everyone the proper way to serve and protect.
