   About Stoney and Sparrow
Stoney & Sparrow have been performing and writing songs together for 44 years. They have done worldwide concert tours under the auspices of the USIA, the British Council and other international cultural organizations–throughout Asia and Europe, from China to Thailand, Russia to France, etc. They have given concerts at more than 100 colleges and universities, from Beijing to Cambridge Universities, from the University of Paris to SUNY-New Paltz and throughout the United States. They have been featured club entertainers from Nashville to New Orleans to Paris, and regulars at Folk Festivals from New York to Kentucky. In addition, they have appeared on numerous radio and television programs throughout the world and their songs have been widely published. In 1984 they recorded several hit albums in China, which sold more than 5 million copies there. On Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at a packed Oasis Café in downtown New Paltz, NY, they sang some of their old (and new) Songs of Place. A live double CD of the event was released by Fair School/Des Hymnagistes Records in the summer of 2006 -- The first printing sold out in a month. A new CD -- Overcoming: Live in China, Alabama, and the Hudson Valley -- is forthcoming in the fall of 2007. To order Live at the Oasis Café or to preorder Overcoming, please send an e-mail to stoneyandsparrow@yahoo.com.

No matter how much time passed between times seeing her, she would grab both my hands and exclaim, "Mark! How are you? It's been a long time!"

A great soul who moved many is missed right now and Harry, Rick, Gregg, you have all my prayers.

Songs are great--Home on the Range--when I heard that I couldnt stop laughing and crying at the same time. Rookie "The James Marcel" Stamant should be sending more videos along to me--so we can rotate those too.

Off to play with some deer and antelope now.
