   STOP CERN's Blurbs
About me:
Experiements which began in late 2008 at CERN's Large Hadron Collider aim to recreate conditions similiar to those which existed at the time of the creation of the universe. People both inside and outside the physics community fear the experiments are unsafe and may sooner or later cause a catastrophe of unprecedented proportions. A project that was in no small part government funded, its finances could have gone a long way towards combating real world issues. Instead, they play risk with the world in pursuit of their dreams in sub-atomic physics.

This space has been set up to spread awareness of the risks a project launched at CERN in 2008 poses to our planet's longevity. For the first time in many decades someone has built a machine that exceeds all our powers of prediction, and although they estimate the possibility of accidentally destroying the planet as extremely low, the LHC propaganda machine that 'everything is safe' is well funded by your tax dollars, paying large salaries to thousands of people who have much to lose financially should the LHC be unable to prove its safety. As most of them perceive the risk to be small, they are willing to take that 'small risk' at our expense. The actual risk cannot presently be calculated. This is what others have been saying about the Large Hadron Collider experiments:

"There is a high probability that micro black holes (MBHs) will be produced in the LHC" "The CERN study indicates that MBHs present no danger because they will evaporate with Hawking evaporation. [Ref. 1] However, Hawking evaporation has never been tested. In several surveys, physicists have estimated a non trivial probability that Hawking evaporation will not work." "We estimate that for LHC the risk in the range of 7% to 10%." - http://www.risk-evaluation-forum.org

"The LHC will be the most powerful particle accelerator in the world." If MBH's are created, there is a likelyhood that some could fall unimpeded to the centre of the Earth under gravity "Scientists have estimated that a stable black hole at the center of the earth could consume not only France but the whole planet in the very short time span of between 4 minutes and 30 seconds and 7 minutes." "That age-old question: Will our planet disappear in the twinkling of an eye? - Now becomes a probability if and when the CERN facility is allowed to go on-line in 2008."
"On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, there was a devastating explosion deep in the tunnel at the CERN particle accelerator complex that actually blew a 20 ton magnet right off its mountings. The explosion filled the tunnel with helium and forced a mass evacuation of the facility. While the facility was supposed to go online during the summer of 2007, the new startup is tentatively summer of 2008 after 17 miles of magnets have been repaired or replaced. This explosion, to those of us who count ourselves among the worried masses, appears to be an ominous foreshadowing of what could eventually become the Second-Coming of the Big Bang... The director of Fermilab, Pier Oddone, blithely wrote about the disaster stating that they had caused "a pratfall on the world stage". A pratfall ? Should these Keystone-scientists be entrusted with the fate of the world in their hands? .. In 2008, when they fire up the Large Hadron Collider, Global Warming and Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network will suddenly become the least of our earthly worries." - http://www.misunderstooduniverse.com

aha, SELF AWARE does he have any scientific arguments, or only prejudgement ?
i don't think, that he has read only 1% of what i have read about the topic and i also tend to believe, that he don't have a notion, what he is talking about.

with such an "opinion", i can not really understand, what is the benefit for SELF AWARE being a friend of the Stop Cern site ?

STOP CERN !

'cause i don't want my family, my friends and me to end up in a (possibly and very likely) artificial black hole or some similar horror created by some sectarian scientist.

Thank you and if you share my opinion - act accordingly!

Now I must say, I'm no scientist, but after reading about the LHC and CERN for the past years I've found that it is not that dangerous. I'm sorry to say but it seems that many people are starting to use fear tactics to get this project shutdown. There are so many implications to this project and the possible results. I know that it seems one out of every 20 scientists who know about CERN say its "going to destroy the world!", but to me there isn't much of a foundation for this. So I would say, Please find me some solid reasoning for "stopping cern" and/or their experiment to recreate the big bang. To me the people who would dislike this project the most would what they call "bible thumpers" and many of those types of people hate on anything that could possibly debase them and their beliefs. This is kind of long winded I know, but I really feel that people are trying to stop them because they may possibly debase the "creationist" beliefs. Thanks and Love to all! Well, your efforts are for the benefit of mankind. I can't resent you for that. I wish you the best of luck. I don't put all my energy into the uncertainty principle and have monitored the Heavy Ion Collider (Basically a smaller version that switched on years ago). Therefore, I would rather not put fear in the minds of those less educated in the subject.

Anyway, uncertainty says anything can happen. What if your building of exponential awareness causes your presumed destructiveness. Just a thought.

Woke up from a recurring dream, bang,a flash through the realms of now, shaking change, nothing is easy, reach out reach in,time spinning faster faster, around and around, under a mountain, its different but we can't say how, hold on tight,is it all over,or just the start again, will we ever make it back to the place we were just then,a rumble from next door,we nearly broke the window, brake on through to otherside, watch out dimension to dimension, who is at the helm,bang...oh its time to start again...tic toc tic

Cool,
So what is it that you believe? That micro black holes will end up engulfing our planet and refrain to dissipate? It is based on precise mathematical predictions and is endorsed by the American Physical Society.

The GLAST mission is very interesting to me. GLAST is much safer but may never find evaporating black holes. It is a component of the mission but the mission is not centered around that discovery. Nonetheless, we all want to live. You nor I are 10,000 scientists. Therefore, what can we do but sit back and watch. -Jeff

I read your profile but it confused me a little bit. Oh wow, but why would they do that if it could eventually destroy the planet and waste tons of money?

Jul 10 2009 8:44 PM

Oh. Why do you want to stop it exactly? I'm sorry if this questions and the previous one seems a little slow. =X

I'm a big supporter of CERN and believe in the understanding of the subatomic world. I'm an electrical engineer and feel that it is necessary to find particles like the Boson. You should be more worried about stem cell research, the middle east controversy, global warming, animal rights, solar radiation or alternative energy. Our future is already hitting the fan.
