We are the "Coalition of Friends to Stop the Newark Heliplex" Our sole purpose is to be the online presence for our group of concerned citizens. Newark has proposed the building of a Heliport facility in the North Ward. This Heliport if approved, would be built parallel across the Passaic River to the highly residential area of South Midland Avenue of Kearny. This Heliplex will create noise, danger and potential health issues to all in Kearny, North Arlington, Belleville, East Newark, Newark, Harrison, and Lyndhurst.
Who I'd like to meet: We'd like to meet anyone who is against the Heliport. Do you want Helicopters flying over Kearny, North Arlington, Belleville, Harrison, East Newark, Lyndhurst? These will be low hovering helicopters servicing News Media, Commercial, and Civil Flights, Delivery Services, and the Newark Police Aviation Unit. Friends, DO you want Helicopters flying over head 24-7? Do you worry about long term health, environmental, and quality of life issues?
