Group Stop originated in Zagreb,the capitol of Croatia,in 1978 and has been active with it's current membership for the past 10 years.the group consits of lead guitarist Nikola Sarapa-also the founder and leader of the band, drummer goran markic, bass player ivica miksic, and singer ervin baucic,the group's main focus is on the perfomance of big hard-rock hits oflate sixties(i.e. Jimi Hendrix, cream, etc…) but they also play classic rock and roll blues.the group has thus for recorted one maxy single and six lp albums,in addition to holding hundreds of live performances throughout croatia .former yugoslavia,italy,austria and germany.the group has gained a formidable reputation and popularity over the years with the devotees of original hard rock.especially noteworthy are group's signature takes of Jimi Hendrix's hits .Finally,I should also mention of successful live tv performances during the group's long existence.
While the true fans of this music still exist in thes parts of the world,the style has udeniably lost a lot of general popularity over the years and the market for it has been declining steadily.The members of stop on the other hand may be getting older,but they feel like they've got a few more years left in the tank and are eager to show it.This goes especially for the lead guitarist Nikola,who I bealive is truly unique talent that makes this band what it is .

Mostar (RTM) - Zagreb cult rock group "Stop" last night in the studio Pavarotti Music Center (MCP) recorded his second live album. The fantastic atmosphere, they played superbly, but also very demanding repertoire of rock and blues classics, the White Room and Sunshine Of Your Love to Hendrixovih Voodoo Chile and Purple Haze. At the concert they had and help Mostar musicians: Anja Rica and Anel Droce are sung backing vocals, and Mili Tiro was a guest on rhythm guitar in the composition of the Red House. *Stop* je jedan od najdugovjecnijih hrvatskih bandova (sviraju bez prestanka vec 27 godina) i njihovi koncerti su uvijek pravi zalogaj za rock sladokusce. Ova iskusna ekipa predvodjena legendarnim Nikolom Sarapom - Vasom, na gitari, bazira svoj repertoar na rock hitovima 60-tih i 70-tih. Njihov znak prepoznavanja su izvedbe legendarnog Jimi Hendrixa kojeg ovi majstori sviraju bolje od ikoga. Nedavno su zavr..ili album obrada Hendrixovih pjesama koji bi trebao izaci za inozemno tr..i..te. Uz Jimija, tu ce biti i Chuck Berryja, Joe cockera, Steppenwolfa... Uglavnom, sve ono najbolje.
Nikola Sarapa also delivered a fine guitar work. Much later in his career, Sarapa had an excellent hard rock band called Stop mostly based on Jimmy Hendrix covers.
Band "Stop" was established in 1978, and for the first 16 years it's members were as follows: Nikola Sarapa - founder & frontman; guitar, Mladen Mastecak - bass guitar & vocal and Srecko Fadiga - drums. Within the first phase of their work, "Stop" has made one single and two albums with their own material.From 1982, the band focuses more on cover music, in particular hard-rock and 60's blues. The rock legend Jimi Hendrix, the unsurpassed guitarist of all times, is a key favourite of the group. >From that time they issued two cover albums,
"Stop" gained two new members in 1994, Ivica Mikic - bass guitar and Zvonimir Cosic - vocal, while sadly loosing their dear friend Mladen Mastecak. Having met in 2003 with memebers of "Karma Records" (Zagreb, Croatia) "Stop" began a new, successful collaboration. The result is the album "In the name of Jimi Hendrix" completed in the studio of Croatian music producer Janko Mlinaric-Truli.

Group rate is Zagreb's club band, known as the top live rock band, which specializes in the best sections of rock 60-th i 70-th , with special emphasis on the repertoire of Jimi Hendrix.
Most popular classic rock band STOP is played on Saturday 4.4.2009. in a magnificent concert hall full of PAUK Club and delighted all present fans J. Hendrixa music and blues music and rock 60th and 70th. Concert was opened with the song hey joe and later were among the only big hits from their latest album,LIVE AT MC PAVAROTTI at the end of it and played their own song * WE VOTE FOR PEACE * which audience also song together with him. Spell playing guitar fender Nikole Sarape and members of the group stop, cast in delirum overflowing hall their fans. In the end did not allow them to go with the platforms, cheers from a group of hysteria was invited three times for an encore.

***STOP-ova odlicna rock vecer***
KSET-ov nevjerojatni 201. Jam Session obilje..en je standardnim rock-classic repertoarom grupe STOP, koja je ovdje zarokala po 21. put i time postala punoljetna po svim standardima, uvjerljivo zauzev..i prvo mjesto brojem nastupa u ovom klubu. Presjek rock i blues klasika sastojao se prvenstveno od Hendrixovih, a onda i Creamovih, ZZ Topovih i ostalih all-time favoritea koji, na..alost, nisu uspjeli podignuti prepuni KSET i pomalo uspavanu publiku do maksimuma.
Bez obzira ..to su se okupili i oni mladi, koji su ih do..li slu..ali po prvi puta, i oni stariji koji ih poznaju kao vlastitu majku, ne mogu biti neiskren i reci da je vladala potpuna euforija u klubu koji je poznat po tome ..to je u stanju napraviti totalni dernek i eksploziju dobrog raspolo..enja. Ne ciljam na to da
da je svirka bila lo..a - to nikako!
Samo mi je nekako nedostajalo onog dobrog duha medu publikom, vi..e su ocima pratili kako tko svira ili pjeva, a manje pa..nje dali tome da se otvore i prepuste trenutku, odnosno onome ..to su tako skoncentrirano pratili. Tek bli..enjem koncerta kraju je pocela ona prava atmosfera.
Ako netko zna kako napraviti atmosferu i podignuti tromu publiku, onda je to zasigurno vokal Ervin Baucic, kojem stvarno moram uputiti sve pohvale na trudu i volji koju nosi i prenosi iz sebe, a vokalne sposobnosti su mu zaista impresivne za ovu vrstu glazbe. Covjek je stvarno ulo..io 100+ % sebe u ovaj nastup, i mo..emo se nadati da ce odsada i ostati u stalnoj postavi STOP-ovaca.
Naravno da ni..ta od ovoga ne bi bilo bez The Mana - biv..eg dekana PMF-a, prof. Nikole Sarape, na njegovom omiljenom Stratocasteru. Zracio je standardnim raspolo..enjem, matematicki tocno i s vidljivo velikim gu..tom proderao nas je svojm gitarskim umijecem, na pjesmama koje poznaje bolje od temeljnih matematickih aksioma koje poucava i predaje svojim studentima – i zbog kojih su mnogi vjerojatno padali ispite, misleci da ce se provuci samo na Hendrixovu majicu.
U novoj postavi STOP-a je i Goran Markic na bubnjevima, koji je svoj dio uradio kvalitetno i zdu..no, mada gledajuci njegove izraze lica imate dojam kao da je na nekom drugom mjestu. To niti nije toliko bitno, covjek zna gdje i na kojim dijelovima treba lupiti, i cijela pojava ga zapravo cini skroz simpaticnim. Ritam sekcija koju cini on i basist Ivica Miksic-Ico djelovala je uhodano i usvirano, odsvirav..i svoj dio bez pogre..ke.
Bend nije razocarao s, otprilike, 75 minuta live svirke, vracajuci se dva puta natrag na stage. Na kraju koncerta je (cini mi se) Sarapa spomenuo da je u cijelosti snimljen, i da ce biti izdan u doglednoj buducnosti, a ono ..to je za sada u prodaji je njihov album obrada "In The Name Of Jimi Hendrix", kojeg su zapravo promovirali ovim nastupom, i onim nedavnim u Boogaloou.
Cijela vecer ostala bi u jo.. boljem dojmu da je publika, a koje stvarno nije nedostajalo, bila mrvicu ..ivlja od pocetka. Tu i tamo moglo se osjetiti da je energija Ervina & Co. uspjela postati kolektivna, no isto tako brzo je i pobjegla van, kroz otvore kluba.
Tko je za to kriv? A tko zna, mo..da je jednostavno bila takva vecer, takav dan, one-of-these-days, no sve u svemu oni koji su do..li po dozu cistog rock adrenalina – tu vecer su ju i dobili!

When Eric Burdon performed in Zagreb in summer of 2003, one of the support groups were "Stop". After that show, having been very impressed by their playing, Eric Burdon expressed his interest to have "Stop" as the support group on his next tour to Croatia.
With this album, "Stop" and "Karma Records" would like to contribute, in their own way, to be a part of the eternal flame burning on the Pantheon of "Gods" - where Jimi occupies a very special and unrivalled place.

Hendrix je zapravo to--ka oko koje se vrti taj --itavi koncept, a zbog Sarapina iznimno precizna sviranja, 'Strat' ima identi--ne dionice i sola--e. Ina--e grupa iza sebe ima pet ili --est albuma, prema podacima kojima baratam, a zadnji izdan prije ne--to manje od dva mjeseca nazvan je "Live at MC Pavarotti". Taj materijal snimljen je u muzi--kom centru Pavarotti u Mostaru tijekom 2005. godine te je nakon samog nastupa miksan i masteriziran da bi, eto, dvije godine kasnije bio plasiran na tr--i--te kao najnoviji live-album.
Sino--nji koncert predstavljen je kao promocija tog materijala, tako da je set bio gotovo identi--an, s ponavljanjima nekih od najja--ih aduta. Kako je to valjda ve-- normalno za svirke u KSET-u, koncert je po--eo oko 22 sata i bez nekog pretjeranog uvoda de--ki su se iz improviziranog side stagea (--itaj, prvi rezervirani separe do pozornice) popeli na pozornicu ukop--ali instrumente te lupili ravno u glavu Jimiem i njegovim velikim hitom "Hey Joe".
