Stormbringer Records was started back in 1997 (as Stormbringer Productions). I had previously been writing for several fanzines since the very beginning of the 1990’s and decided it was about time to do something else. The whole idea of the label from day one was the same as it's always been – to release heavy metal on vinyl exclusively! The label pays no attention whatsoever to current trends. If you’re only interested in CD’s, this is obviously not a record label for you. If you do however enjoy good old fashioned 1980’s metal and coloured vinyls & picture discs, then you’ve come to the right place!
The label pretty much reflects my personal taste when it comes to metal – this means everything from traditional heavy metal to old school death metal and everything in there between. Stormbringer is most of all known for its releases with classic 1980's heavy metal bands and that’s the type of bands the label always will focus on. Stormbringer releases everything from bands that split up a long time ago to new material with older bands as well as newer interesting bands.
For the last couple of years the label has been a hiatus, due to lack of time and money, but who knows what might happen in the future? I keep getting questions about whether a certain release is still available. Since there hasn't been any updated website about the label in years, I thought this page might be a good solution.
