Formed in 2000 in Valdosta, GA by guitarists Rob Leeds and Jeff Leischner, StormCrow later relocated to Albuquerque, NM where they began playing in 2004 with Dave Nix on bass and drummer Clark Pollard.
Throughout 2004 the group added steadily to their list of music written by frontman Rob Leeds, and just recently released their debut CD “Consuming the Night."
The full-length disc’s songs span a variety of styles within the band’s alternative power-rock sound. From the opening wail and explosive chords of the lead song “Withered Soul” to the closing acoustic ballad “Peace of Mind”, StormCrow takes the listener through a set of melodic hooks and thought-provoking lyrics. The journey includes the hard-driving rhythm and heavy riffs of “Visions”, the pounding tribal sound of “Mud Man”, and the ethereal feel of “Morning Haze”. Throughout the album, songwriter Rob Leeds’ lyrics convey a certain dark optimism on his self-reflective voyage through life.
