Within a year Stormental rose from out of nowhere and became a pleasant heavy metal revelation from Brazil, conquering achievements not commonly seen. Instituted in January of 2006, the quartet compromises Alexei Leão (vocals), Andrei Leão (bass), Hique d'Avila (guitars) and Marcos Feminella (drums).

Compositions blend the finest energy of heavy metal, the complexity of progressive rock and the speed of power metal. Defined as “Raw Prog-Metal”, this label was well received by the public, in Brazil and abroad. The baptism of fire was the first European Tour, when the band released their debut “Stormental” in the Old World. From August to September of 2006 Stormental performed in Germany, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

On the same year, Stormental made their self-titled debut album available for free download at their official website, before everybody started doing it, and the repercussion was good in such a way that when the band toured Brazil, the crowd already knew all the songs from the album.

Being the debut album acclaimed by both public and the media, Stormental released in May of 2007 the “Unleashing the Madness” EP containing five tracks, including two new songs and three versions of older songs, been available only for digital download at first.

The next step was the ambitious production of a live DVD. A sold out night was recorded in the TAC Theater, a one-hundred years old place, located at the heart of Stormental’s hometown, in June of 2007. Nearly half thousand people saw a historical concert, produced in its whole by the band itself. Entitled “Mental Live Storm” and released on August of 2008, the DVD includes the complete concert, the official video clips, the documentary “European Tour 2006” and the “Unleashing the Madness” EP as bonus material. The promotion started with 15 gigs through Europe on the second European Tour, during October and November of 2008.

Once again with a pioneering attitude the band released, also on 2008, a customized 4 gigabyte USB stick-drive, baptized as Full Pack 2008 (version 1.0), holding the complete material (audio and video) including an exclusive bonus. Stormental ended the year recording an X-mass metal song called Metal in the Air.

For 2009, Stormental is focused on the release of their second studio album, which will be produced together with Siedler Dance Company. This studio work will also contain a special DVD with a live performance of Siedler’s opus “Perception of the Other”, created by the dance company in collaboration with Stormental. “In Front of You” is the first video from this masterpiece and it is already available on line.

O Stormental surgiu na cidade de Florianópolis/SC em janeiro de 2006. Formado atualmente por Alexei Leão (vocal), Andrei Leão (baixo), Hique d'Avila (guitarra) e Marcos Feminella (bateria), a banda saiu do anonimato em menos de um ano e se tornou uma grata revelação, contabilizando conquistas poucas vezes vistas no cenário do Metal no Brasil em tão curto espaço de tempo.

As composições mesclam o peso Heavy Metal com a parte intrincada do Rock Progressivo e a velocidade do Power Metal, caracterizando o "Raw Prog-Metal", nomenclatura esta, que caiu no gosto dos fãs tanto no Brasil como no exterior. O batismo de fogo ocorreu na turnê européia, realizada entre agosto até setembro de 2006, marcando o lançamento do álbum “Stormental” no exterior. O Stormental fez shows na Alemanha, Bélgica, Holanda, Espanha, Polônia, República Tcheca e Eslováquia.

Com uma atitude pioneira, o Stormental disponibilizou seu 'debut' gratuitamente em seu site oficial. Desta forma, quando voltaram para a estrada após o lançamento oficial no Brasil, ocorrido em dezembro de 2006, grande parte do público já conhecia as oito faixas do CD.

Depois da boa aceitação do disco de estréia, o grupo lançou em maio de 2007 um EP com cinco faixas, "Unleashing The Madness", trazendo duas inéditas e três versões diferentes de músicas gravadas anteriormente, disponível inicialmente apenas no formato digital, para download.

Entretanto, mantendo a mesma atitude ousada veio o ambicioso projeto da gravação do primeiro DVD, que ocorreu no dia 29 de junho de 2007 no centenário Teatro Álvaro de Carvalho, construído em 1857 e localizado no coração de Florianópolis. Aproximadamente quatrocentos fãs tiveram a oportunidade de presenciar uma performance histórica. Com organização e produção da própria banda, este DVD intitulado "Mental Live Storm", foi lançado em Agosto de 2008 e contou com uma turnê de divulgação de 15 shows pela Europa. O material inclui o show completo, videoclipes, o documentário "European Tour 2006" e o EP "Unleashing The Madness" como disco bônus.

Ainda em 2008 o Stormental inova mais uma vez e lança um Pen Drive USB de 4 gigabytes intitulado Full Pack 2008 (version 1.0) contendo toda a discografia e videografia da banda, além de uma faixa bônus exclusiva. Para encerrar o ano, a banda ainda deixou um presente de natal para os fans, gravando um jingle metal de natal.

Em 2009 o espetáculo “Perception Of The Other”, escrito em parceria com a Siedler Cia de Dança, é o foco. Um trabalho inédito de Dança Contemporânea e Heavy Metal, que teve a sua estréia no dia 28 de junho de 2008 e que será lançado em Outubro de 2009 no formato de CD e DVD, contendo esta primeira apresentação e toda a trilha sonora composta pelo Stormental.
