HAROLD BUDD & CLIVE WRIGHT "CANDYLION"
Darla
is pleased to offer a new collaborative effort from Harold Budd and
Clive Wright. Candylion contrasts previous work, A Songs for Lost
Blossoms, in that it is more thoughtful and structured. Still, it constantly
surprises the listener with a fresh collage
of aural landscapes and moods. Sometimes it evokes
the feeling of a traditional Japanese piece, or the mood of a
gentile, 60s, British film, or a Renaissance cathedral with cloisters reverberating a
choral ensemble. Harold Budd and Clive Wright use new colors to
paint Canylion's soundscapes: Harp, strings and even drums. If A Song for Lost Blossoms
reminds listeners familiar with Harold Budd's previous works of his collaboration with Brian
Eno, then Candylion may serve as a continuation of the spirit of Avalon Sutra; warm, glistening, meditative and alive.
Art beautiful Art! Candylion was recorded and mixed at Clive Wright's Desert Sky
Studio, Joshua Tree, CA. during the last
quarter of 2008. Harold Budd is recognized as "The Godfather of Ambient Music". His
works are the cornerstones of the modern minimal and ambient canon. Clive
Wright is a founding member of the platinum selling pop/rock band Cock Robin and
has worked as writer, producer and guitarist with Human Drama, Tears
for Fears
members, Montell Jordan, The Black
Eyed Peas and Peter Gabriel. Released on Darla and available June 15th,

SECTION 25 "NATURE + DEGREE"
LTM are pleased to present the sixth studio album from cult
Factory Records group Section 25, titled Nature + Degree. Formed in Blackpool
(UK) by brothers Larry and Vin Cassidy in 1978, the band were initially mentored
by Joy Division, and went on
to record four albums with Factory Records between
1980 and 1986. The first of these, Always Now, combined harsh post-punk
with spacey psychedelia, and was produced by
Martin 'Zero' Hannett. Their third, From The Hip,
produced in 1984 by Bernard Sumner of New Order, explored techno and
electronica, and spawned the oft-sampled club hit Looking From A Hilltop. After
a decade apart Section 25 decided to regroup, releasing acclaimed album
Part-Primitiv in 2007, and playing a string of powerful live shows across Europe ,
several with guest Peter Hook. A best-of album Dirty Disco was issued in
2008. Now recognized as a leading genre band, three Section 25 tracks were included in the recent Warners box
set Factory Records: Communications 1978-1992, and From The Hip was lauded as one
of '1000 albums to hear before you
die' by The Guardian newspaper. Nature + Degree is their sixth studio album, self-produced
in April 2009 and featuring new members Stuart Hill and Steve Stringer.
Larry and Vin are also joined by Beth Cassidy, whose vocal style recalls that
of her late mother Jenny on From the Hip and Love
& Hate.
Stand-out tracks include Singularity, Remembrance,
Garageland and Saddled With Something. Released on LTM and available June 15th,

ROME "FLOWERS FROM EXILE"
Into the heart… With ‘Flowers from Exile’, the
Luxembourgish folk formation ROME surpass their work to date, which already
includes three full-length albums in just a few years. Just as early releases
were apocalyptic and aggressive in nature, the expressionistically-tinged CD
‘Masse Mensch Material’ (2008) could be said to have a revealed inner vision.
ROME’s universe was expanded by proud resignation and sweet melancholy. The
latest album, ‘Flowers from Exile’ goes a step further in this direction.
Similar to
the early albums of the legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen, stories from
the (inner) exile are told here with fatalistic gestures and dark timbre;
of the longing for a lost homeland, of loneliness and eternal travels, but also
of unexpected friends far away and
the actual homeland in your own heart. Songs
such as ‘The Secret Sons of Europe’ or ‘To Die Among Strangers’
(which was previously released as a CD
single) form a song cycle full of metaphors
for estrangement – the poetry of longing. Highly detailed arrangements use the
sound of the flamenco guitar as well as mysterious samples, pulsating beats
and sad melodies. In ROME’s songs there lives a stoic sense
of the melodramatic. As well as Cohen, one must look to icons such as
Tom Waits and late Johnny Cash in order to be able to describe
the lyrics and voice of Jerome Reuter. ‘Flowers from Exile’ is just as much an emotional as a critical
work. The personally stamped album of a modern singer-songwriter which tells of journeys
both within and without. Jerome Reuter’s moving
vocals and Patrick Damiani’s complex musical arrangements leave the musical roots of folk far
behind and send these ‘flowers from exile’ to all listeners who are
willing and capable of feeling the dignity, the hope and the pride behind the
lyrics and who are prepared to recognise themselves in those restless
spirits whom
the twelve part song cycle
conjures up. Into the heart… Released on Trisol and available June 26th,
2009.

ASP "VON ZAUBERERBRUDERN: LIVE & UNPLUGGED"
ASP: for years this name has stood for the most successful
German gothic rock band and, irrespective of genre, for a concert
recommendation par excellence. In 2008, the likeable band from Frankfurt went consistently
further down their chosen creative path and released their masterpiece ‘Zaubererbruder – Der Krabat-Liederzyklus’
(very modestly billed as a ‘between-album’),
yet another grand double album which was received
enthusiastically by critics and fans alike. An entry at Number 13 in
Germany’s official music industry charts Media Control
was a first sign of widespread success for
a genuine indie institution. In the following autumn the band set out
onto another adventure and set off with four guest musicians to play
an unplugged tour to go with the album, which sold out
right down to the last seat! For further proof of this band’s untiring ability
for self re-invention, there is a lasting document of this their latest adventure.
In the band’s ten years history, Zaubererbruder ist their first ever Blu-ray release. True to a line in one
of the Zaubererbruder songs, “Ich wag’, was keiner je gewagt” (“I venture to
do what no one has ever dared
before”) the band went to play for high stakes with this release: for the
very first time, a complete concert has been filmed in high definition,
using the new camera sensation RED ONE. A dark romantic adventure. Magic moments. Captured
on film in double cinema resolution! FORMAT DVD: Dolby Digital 5.1

ELIWAGAR "AND THE ANCESTRAL PAGAN FLAME SHALL NEVER FADE"
Amazing new project coming from Lorraine/France.
TRADITIONAL PAGAN FOLK and MARTIAL influences based on German culture! ELIWAGAR is
a one woman band created by Runahild Bjarkanweiss Tyrsdottir in the
heart of Lothringen, a land which finds its roots in the Germanic heritage and
traditions. Runahild composes Traditional Pagan Folk Musik which is her true dedication to
hail and honour the ancient nordic and Germanic traditions, the pagan beliefs of the northern lands, the everlasting might
and beauty of Mother Nature and particulary of the Lothringen land and its
wonderful landscapes where the wind still blows
with the ancestral spirit of brave heroes... Eliwagar uses mainly traditional instruments to follow
the path of the music played by our folk since the dawn
of time around great fire during the long winternights. They played just natural instruments
and sang the glorious legends of the gods and goddesses, of
heroes and
victory. The CD comes with
a beautiful 16 pages booklet. Released on Twilight and available July 1st,
2009. http://www.stormingthebase.com/details.asp?ProdID=8208

OPUS NIGRUM "JOURNEY IN THE DARK"
Opus Nigrum, offers a magical experience, with
sound that is characterized by impressive compositions, enigmatic melodies, atmospheric, dark, with
choral and orchestral arrangements that turn into impressive works of art.
Ritual music, neoclassical, epic passages with a strong hermetic alchemical symbolism. Based on three
stages in the alchemical process by which the soul passes through many incarnations
in its evolution to achieve a state of perfection; the three stages of the alchemical process philosophy. Nigredo, Albedo
and Rubedo. Opus Nigrum is the dissolution and calcining phase of the form,
which is the hardest part of the
Great Work, it is the "dark" of the human psyche, emotions, intuitions, perceptions and
thoughts buried in the denial of mind, being an introspective journey, an
internal search that will go though a gloomy passages, such as war, desire, envy
..., culminating in the Red Work, in the Philosopher's Stone, in
The Gold.
Cinematographic opus, where battles, temples,
warriors are looming, where sacrifices are offer to honor of the ancient
gods.

KAZERIA "CREDO NOSTRUM"
KAZERIA [KZ] means “Hunt” in Spanish. This is a solo project
started and leaded by Argentinean composer [S] since 2008. His latest opus, “Credo Nostrvm” ("Our Creed") offers nine tracks
that offer sonorities in a combination of martial, neofolk, neoclassical and dark ambient.
The lyris deal with [KZ]s main topics:
the meaning of glory, decadence, eternity, struggle, occult and sacred symbols of forgotten times.
[S] spouts out a harsh vision about reality, which could be understood
as “active nihilism”. This is its way to relate to this current decaying age
which, in [S] words, “must be overcome”. The Hunt has begun...
If you
are fan of TOROIDH, WAPPENWUND
or TRIARII...you will love KZ! Released on Twilight and available July 1st,
2009. http://www.stormingthebase.com/details.asp?ProdID=8210

THE FROZEN AUTUMN "FRAGMENTS OF MEMORIES"
FINALLY! A much much overdue re-release of this legendary
album! In 1993 DIEGO MERLETTO formed THE FROZEN AUTUMN. At the very beginning
this was just DIEGO's solo project but, after few months CLAUDIO BROSIO joined
the project as session guitar player and in 1994 the first demotape "OBLIVION"
was released. The band got signed immediately by German Label ‘Weisser Herbst’
(Endraum’s label) and their debut album "PALE AWAKENING" appeared in 1995.
Countless gigs, contributions to various compilations and execellent reviews in
all important ‘Wave and Goth’ magazines helped THE FROZEN AUTUMN to become very
well known to the "DARK-ROMANTIC" music scene. After this very strong beginning,
Diego spent more than three years on long
musical research, at the end of which
the Italian label EIBON RECORDS finally released
the eagerly awaited 2nd album by THE FROZEN AUTUMN: "FRAGMENTS OF MEMORIES" (deleted for
many years now). Now TW Records is the new home for The
Frozen Autumn and this is the re-release of a cult album from a cult
band! Fragments of Memories was sold out since many years, and
this time
it will come with 2
bonus tracks and new artwork. Released on Twilight and available July 1st,
2009.

STATIC MOVEMENT "VISIONARY LANDSCAPES"
In 1998 DIEGO formed STATIC MOVEMENT with ARIANNA a.k.a
FROXEANNE. This true "ELECTRO COLD WAVE DUO" Released the only album ‘Visionary
Landscapes’ in 1999, again with EIBON RECORDS. The musical style of STATIC
MOVEMENT is not that
different from THE FROZEN AUTUMN, but in this project only electronic
instruments are used to create a more complex and refined sound; there is also
the good novelty of ARIANNA's voice that catalyzes the attention of
the listeners
ith its beautiful timbre in
addition to DIEGO's warm voice. Released on Twilight and available July 1st,

THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE "MUTATIONS"
NOW SHIPPING!!
A bridge between their first album on Planet
Mu and the forthcoming second one on Ad Noiseam, the "Mutations EP"
is The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble's coming of age. Profound and organic
but dark and impressive, it is a perfect rendition of the ensemble's live shows
and the proof that there is still something fresh to be done at
the meeting point of post-rock, jazz and drones. A deeply emotional and original trip. (Get this on CD /
on 12" / as mp3). Following their remarkable (and remarked) début album released
by Planet Mu in 2006, the international
"super group" that is The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble present with "Mutations" both a companion
to their first CD and an appetizer to their forthcoming second album.
Having incorporated new musicians, learned from their numerous live shows and incorporated new influences
in their sound, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble sound more mature than
ever before
in this 8-track, 39-minute EP,
which features new tracks alongside re-works of older ones. Released on Ad

SICKBOY "TIME TO PLAY"
NOW SHIPPING!!
Sickboy's exhilarating, enthusiastic and insane-as-ever
fifth full length album features this musician's most infectious, catchiest and
most efficient material. While the noise might be gone for good, Sickboy's new
clothes are of the colourful party kind. Mixing old school rave, new school
electro, breaks and madness, Sickboy hits the nail on its head and invites
everybody to play, rave and party non-stop. Refreshing! More madness from the
source of it all. Sickboy, one of the most seminal breakcore / mash-up /
whatever artist of the current European scene takes everybody to the
utmost rave of 2008. It's all pretty colourful, you might meet Alf
or some girl from Mars but don't be mistaken, there might still be blood
on the dancefloor at one point.
Having released his previous four albums on Peace
Off, Mirex and Cargo's Very Friendly, Jurgen Desmet (aka Sickboy) presents on
Ad Noiseam a full length album which
might be at the same time his most
accessible and his "sickest". Having dropped the noise from his sound, the
boy is now all about crazy raving, flashy beats and tongue-in-cheek samples
(all right, this last element has always been there with Sickboy).
Armed with a beats bassy enough to wreck subwoofers, anthemic samples and a tempo
reaching for the sky, Sickboy doesn't let the dancefloor catch its breath for
a second, and offer here 45 minutes of non-stop sonic ketamine. Maybe a sign of the time, and somewhat
comparable to the recent evolution in sound of such co-conspirators as Bong-Ra, Jason
Forrest or Shitmat, Sickboy steps away here
from the darkest corners of breakcore and integrates in his sound some old school
rave, new school house, and no school delirium. Where mash-up was previously
often limited to a few samples and hooks in the middle of a noisy
breakcore track, it has now gained the entire tracks, new coherent
ensembles embracing
many genres at the same
time, and coming out as something new and exhilarating. Released on Ad
Noiseam.

S.V.D
- NO ORDINARY MAN (DIGITAL-ONLY COMEBACK EP) ....
....
Having
released a single and debut album on Dependent Records, Vancouver’s S.V.D is
back this year with a digital-only EP that finds them in full form. Front-man
Steve Campbell is energetic as always and all six digital cuts tear it up.
Sonically, the band has progressed but this does not mean that they have left
behind the strong influence of their Vancouver predecessors, Skinny Puppy,
Frontline Assembly, and Numb. Electronic sounds mix with guitar sampling,
melodic vocals are tweeked by spoken-word stylistics. The result is slamming
industrial, Canadian style: check out 21st Century Mind and Dreaded Afterglow to
be convinced. Then come back and listen to the development, processed vocals,
trance elements, and addictive vibe of I Can’t Contradict. This little EP proves
S.V.D to be one of the most original and addicting acts in
Canada.....
