About me:
Hi. My name is Reid Miller. I am an actor, dancer, musician, puppeteer and storyteller. This myspace page is about StorySLAM! StorySLAMs are tons of fun. I hope one comes to your town soon..... StorySLAM is a competitive storytelling event. Each night has a theme. However loosely, stories must be based on the theme..... There is a time limit per story. Stories must be told from memory. No notes allowed. Practice at home before StorySLAM..... Anyone with a story to tell is welcome to apply to compete. Competitors' names are drawn from a hat and the SLAM begins..... Judges' decisions are final. PRIZES ARE AWARDED to each night's champion..... Here's more from The MOTH in NYC..... "A 'floating nightclub' devoted to the spoken word, StorySLAM is single-handedly reviving the art of collective storytelling as people from near and far take the microphone and tell their stories..... Part salon, part theatre and part cabaret each StorySLAM show gathers storytellers from all walks of life. Everyone has a favorite ghost story, break-up story, or hard-luck story..... These are the tales we trot out at parties or whisper into our lovers' ears in the dark. We blab them on the phone, sob them onto a friend's shoulder, tell them to our shrinks..... But, the one thing we never do is keep them to ourselves, because stories are, by their very nature, communal"..... StorySlams are primarily advertised Mouth-to-Mouth, as it were!..... HELP SPREAD THE WORD! Please tell and email your family and friends (esp. on myspace.com). PASS IT ON!..... LISTENERS INVITED! BRING YOUR FRIENDS!!! ENJOY THE FUN!..... How do you learn more?..... To get on the official email list send an email to storyslamfan@yahoo.com..... Watch for www.myspace.com/StorySlamFan bulletins/event notices and for details call 608-576-7529.

Act!vated Storytellers

May 24 2007 11:06 PM

We know you love stories. OK, that is a no-brainer. You wouldn't be on our friends list if you didn't! Right? :)

Well, guess what? We are about to celebrate one year of producing Activated Stories online and we are excited! And you can help us party!

You are invited to leave your comments and reviews at iTunes, dig it at Digg.com or call our new voice mail line 206-350-5016 and we just might play your comments on an upcoming episode. And be sure to add yourself to our new frapper map for friends and
audience members.

"Thoroughly Entertaining" says Starcom on iTunes "The performed stories are excellent and the production is first rate. It's fun, lighthearted, and addicting for the whole family."

By the way, even though it is called a podcast, you don't need an iPod to listen. You can listen on your computer for free. Each episode is about 15-20 minutes long.

Happy Listening,

Dennis, Kimberly and Zephyr Goza

The Act!vated Storytellers are currently in Panora, Iowa
