   About STOUT
Stout - NGMF Cornerstone Records - 2002 "Forget all you think you know about tough guy hardcore cause STOUT are aiming for the the top with the release of their self-titled full length, courtesy of Cornerstone Records. What we have here is 11 tracks (30 minutes) of PURE hatred. Cause that's the first thing that really hit me when I first played this record. Sure, the guitar riffs are painful and violent, the drum beats are heavy and unrelenting; but the vocals and the hateful lyrics they convey is the heart and soul of STOUT. "My Hatred Runs In My Fist", "Get In My Way And Consider It Fate" and of course "Don't Make Me Do This To You" are all classic one-liners shouted by STOUT frontman-lyricist T.A.D. that are part of a greater scheme. This record was engineered by Washington's Kenneth Olden (Battery, Damnation AD, Better Than A 1000) so you know it sounds great right off the start. The music itself is a mix between older / early 90s trashy hardcore and recent madball influenced "streetcore". There are some great breakdowns in there but overall Stout rely on good transitions from one riff to another rather than focusing on only one part of a song. Which makes this album a very easy listen from start to finish, if you're into the style of course, and if you can withstand the constant hate onslaught! Other than this LP, Stout have a "Biocaust" EP, a 1996 demo and a track on a Raybeez tribute (The Spirit Lives On). Stout don't look too much like a touring band, so if you ever hear about them playing close to your town or area, you should definitely be there. " - Quebec HC News
