Stoutcast Radio is an internet radio station, broadcasting our streams over the internet so people around the world can tune in and listen. To define this more clearly for any of those who don't understand, you can listen to the music we play over the internet using a program called Winamp (and other programs that support live MP3 streams) by visiting www.stoutcast.com and clicking the appropriate link for your media player of choice.
Stoutcast Radio was originally created to provide artists with a place to play and be heard. However, we realized that while the artist is important, without fans there is no artist. We then had a meeting of the minds and came up with the current format.
For the artist, Stoutcast provides a forum to play what they want, how they want, when they want. It gives the artist a chance to gain some exposure and get some airtime, all the while being able to receive feedback necessary to grow within the industry.
For the listener it provides a place where they are almost certain to hear some good music, regardless of their genre(s) of choice. It also provides the listener an opportunity to obtain recordings of some of their favorite artists (within the obvious legal parameters) from what we hope to one day be one of the largest online collections of live and DJ sets.
Stoutcast is open to all listeners, promoters, and artists who wish to play, regardless of the type of music... House, Breaks, Trance, Hard House, Techno... but it doesn't end there... Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, Classical, Spoken Word, whatever you want. We are open to all.
You may not be able to relive the scene of the past, and you may not like the scene at the present, but the scene of the future has yet to be written. Where do you fit in?
