   About Stovepony Records
Stovepony Records is a joint effort between Mule Freedom and What's Cookin' - www.whatscookin.co.uk. Our first release was the fabulous What's Kickin' Vol 1 compilation. Our second was the fabulous Onions album The Old Straight Track. Our third - the fabulous What's Kickin' Vol 2 - came out in May 2007. Our fourth release was High 7 Moon 5, the new album by Martin Stephenson. "His finest record in years - *****" Rock&Reel Our current release is - surprise, surprise! - What's Kickin' Vol 3, out now! Stovepony Records are lovingly distributed by Cargo. We generally like hearing from most bands or artists, but love country rock, pub rock, garage rock, psych rock, bluegrass, folk, Mexican, etc. We really don't like laddish indie or anyone that counts Oasis as an influence, although the Roses maybe. Take a scout around our friends and if you have anything in common drop us a line or join our mailing list by emailing stovepony@yahoo.co.uk

This month we have Regina Spektor with the theme to the film Prince Caspian (but don’t let that put you off, it is really rather wonderful), Mermaid Skeletons with a great song that’s worth it for the chorus alone, the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, who are as good as their name if not more so and finally the legendary Chip Taylor with the thought-provoking Former American Soldier.
Great listening, and if you like the tracks, buy the albums!

THE FAMILY - NEW SONGS ON MYSPACE

Hot off the press, we've made our latest recordings available for preview on our myspace page.

The songs were recorded at the The Steam Rooms, The Bees' very own studio on the Isle of Wight. The songs are:

Carolina's Alone - a cosmic waltz with lilting harmonies, horns and pedal steel;

and

The Byrd - a boozy, foot tappin', low-down dirty, boogie!!!

These songs, along with Let the Love Shine In represent what we're all about - so have a listen and leave your comments...

Cheers

The Family xxx

THE DUBLO

Jan 13 2008 3:34 AM

Meanwhile...
It's gonna be a busy month for The Dublo - formed formed less than a year ago, with an debut album of authentic boogie originals and suburbia-on-sea shanties to record to old fashioned tape next week- we invite you to celebrate our first birthday, for FREE- this Friday 18th at The Carpenters Arms 135 Cambridge Heath Rd just 5mins walk south of Bethnal Green tube.

The band are very excited to be finally playing with old pals, Hackney stalwarts and undisputed masters of the Gypsy/Folk-Punk genre "Walking Wounded".

Doors open 8pm, The Dublo are on at around 9:30pm, Walking Wounded respectfully play the later set. It's gonna be a great night, for drinking and dancing - with pub prices, in the surroundings of a fine east end pub with a proper east end style 'late' bar.

So please - be our very welcome guests - come down and help us celebrate!!

Finally - 'cos we know not a lot gets past you lot- some of you might have noticed a certain, ahem, swelling shall we say of late...
Bull Fiddle player Rowan and guitarist Pete are having a baby - at the beginning of February, enforcing a couple of months maternity leave - pheee-ew!

Rock 'n' Roll kids...Rock and Roll!!
