The Jazz Lauds band is a seven-piece ensemble comprised of two vocalists, two horns, and rhythm section. Formed and co-led by Jen & Kris Allen and Earl MacDonald, they play every Sunday morning at St. Paul's Collegiate Church in Storrs, where they are joined by an impressive, changing roster of invited, guest jazz musicians.
Using the music and musical forms they love most, Kris, Jen and Earl have composed and arranged a broad selection of artistically uncompromised jazz to be performed within the context of a church service.
This is definitely great music. As Kris Jensen said, I love the concept. I just wish that I could be there now to be a part of it, but it will have to wait until I get back from Germany next year.
