Hey there. As you can see my nickname is Strachi. It derives from my family name “Strachwitz”. I am a music lover and …let..s say: Urban Entrepreneur! I run two companies and hold shares and co-founded a third one. All companies are somehow involved in music. Mostly Hip Hop! We promote weekly club parties for 10 years now (check: www.0711entertainment.com), organize a big HipHop festival once a year (check: www.hiphopopen.de), manage groups & producers, run a recording studio, consult companies for urban marketing strategies, organize workshop tours with some of the best dancing choreographers in the world (check: www.whogotskillz.com), do European wide bookings for most of the big DJ cats and acts from the states (check: www.heavyrotation.net) and distribute mixtapes (check: www.heavyrotation.net/mastertapes). We work with a lot of artists, producers and promoters from all over Europe and the States. I want to use myspace.com for private and business purposes. Privately to meet nice people from all over the world and from the business side to enlarge our contacts and find old and current friends and partners online. I love to improve and learn languages. Right now especially Spanish. The dopest language in the world! Even if it takes some time, since I..m not living in a Spanish speaking country – unfortunately.
If you are interested about my background. Here are some “history facts”:
I was born and raised in Stuttgart / Germany. In the late 80ies I was struck by two movies, named "Wildstyle" and "Beat Street". From then on I was obsessed with the whole HipHop Movement. Back then primarily B-Boying and Graffiti. By the time I also felt more and more in love with Rap Music and the early Electronic Stuff (Africa Bambataa etc.) Run-DMC, LL Cool J., Public Enemy, Beasties etc. were my heroes – besides of all the B-Boys and Graffiti Writers I liked back then (Ken Swift, Emilio, Next One, Storm & Swift, Mode2, Can2, Zapster, Seen, Bio etc.) By 1991 I started to organize the first HipHop Jams in Stuttgart and the surrounding area. Back then the whole HipHop Community in Germany was still small and clear. A couple of activists were travelling all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland (=GSA) and started to connect the little scenes and made their acquaintances. Always on the quest for kindred spirits! In Germany there were always the same groups appearing on stage and so they could all slowly built up a solid following all over GSA.
In 1995 I finished my school and started to study Business Economics at the University of Hohenheim, close to Stuttgart. It was there when I teamed up with Schowi (check: www.myspace.com/schowi) cause we accidentally met in the lecture room. We already knew each other for years through the hip hop scene. He was an MC of Stuttgarts famous rap group Massive Töne (check: www.myspace.com/massivetoene) and I was throwin.. all the concerts, jams etc.! So there was no way we could have missed each other. But it was not before the whole University thing, when we finally decided to team up and organize stuff together. Today Schowi is not only my business partner, but also one of my closest friends. It didn..t take long and we were approached by an acquaintance, if we..d consider to open up a weekly Friday club night. This club wasn..t running that well on Friday nights, so that gave us the chance to take over and blow it up. And we surely did!! Since we come from Stuttgart and the telephone area code is 0711, we called the club “0711 Club”. This was the first German HipHopClub to bring over American DJs and artists to a still young and fresh HipHopScene. The club was quickly famous all over Germany and people travelled sometimes a hundred miles and way more to party in the notorious 0711Club.
At the same time the different groups of our “Stuttgart posse” got pretty successful. We were all hanging together in a loose fusion, called “Kolchose”. It was compounded by some MCs, Graffiti Writers, B-Boys, DJs and me – as an organizing and promoting “part”. The first ones to really blow up were our friends of “Freundeskreis”, around Max Herre (check: www.maxherre.de), followed by “Massive Töne” (check: www.massivewelt.de) who were already VERY famous within the HipHop scene, “Afrob” (check: www.afrob.de) or “DJ Thomilla”.(check: www.thomilla.de). From 98/99 on they all blew up also heavily in the mainstream and until now they all sold many hundred thousands of records and are all household names in GSA.! This gave the whole thing a boost and Schowi and me, we founded in 1997 the “0711 Buero” (0711 Bureau) and started organizing the tours and bookings for all of us. Just to do the managing stuff – besides of all that creative stuff that had to be done. And it all developed very quickly. One thing led to another and the company prospered – as the whole HipHop scene in Germany and Europe did.
In 2000 we organised the first “MTV HipHopOpen” Festival – with our partners of Four Artists. More than 15.000 people showed up and we were sold out already a week before. From then on we organised it every year and brought over acts such as Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, LL Cool J, RZA, Cypress Hill, Pharoahe Monch etc. – besides of all the big names from Europe.
In 2002 Schowi and me founded another company with our good friend and long years business partner: Sia. The “Heavy Rotation GmbH” (check: heavyrotation.net). Business objectives are club/party and concert/festival bookings, to be a marketing plattform for urban industry brands and the distribution of Mixtapes,-CDs etc.! Mostly due to the work of our partner Sia, who is also the managing director of Heavy Rotation, the company is by far the biggest brand and name in all over Europe when it comes to book US DJs or artists. We work with all the big US DJs and a lot of big rap artists. You name them..!
In 2004/2005 we founded together with 2 other good friends of ours (Mucho & Harris) the third company. “Urban Dance GmbH”, which main brand is “Who Got Skillz” (check: www.whogotskillz.com). Business objectives for that company are workshop tours with some of the best dance choreographers in the world and to build an infrastructure for the European Streetdance Community. We work closely with choreographers such as Marty Kudelka (Justin Timberlake Choreographer), Eddie Morales (Janet Jackson) etc.
There is still a lot of work to be done and every day of my life I am still grateful, that I was able to turn my hobby into my profession. I hope I can stick to that for the rest of my life. I am still looking forward to work with and meet a lot of interesting people. It doesn..t matter which kind of music or field. I don..t limit myself just to HipHop. I..m open minded for everything. There is just good music, or bad music! And fun and boredom.
I like to listen to good music & I like to have fun!
See you folks! Cheers…!
