Kid Canaveral
Kid Canaveral are two boys and two girls, who make indie-pop music you can sing and dance along to. Formed in 2004, in St Andrews, they are David MacGregor (voice & guitar), Dan Sheehy (drums), Kate Lazda (voice & guitar), and Rose McConnachie (voice & bass). Over the past few years they’ve been busy writing and perfecting their noble craft, playing a barrage of live shows; notable gigs include opening for Joy Zipper, KT Tunstall, King Creosote, Camera Obscura, Glasvegas and Emma Pollock.
After re-locating to Edinburgh in 2006 they have performed at a number of festivals including The Wickerman Festival, The Fence Homegame (for the last three years), goNorth and Glasgow’s ‘La Fete de la Musique’ - as well as receiving national radio airplay on Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 1 show and on Vic Galloway’s Radio 1 and Radio Scotland shows.
In 2007 Smash Hits was Single of the Week on Jim Gellatly’s XFM show and a video of the single was featured on The Music Show on BBC2.
Second single “Couldn’t Dance/Teenage Fanclub Song”, released June 2008, has received yet more airplay than its predecessor, including in North America and Europe, with the band featuring as Jim Gellatly’s XFM X-posure artist in its week of release.

Come On Gang!
Come On Gang! met at the Edinburgh College of Art, although they're from all over the place - bassist Trev from Dublin, guitarist Mikey from Galashiels, and drummer and singer Sarah from sunny Brighton. They'd all individually advertised for people who loved energetic riffs, lyrics with real substance, and rhythm that feet can't help but dance to. And had short, brown, messy hair. (no, that was just coincidence.) Hey presto, they met, turned on the amps, picked up the sticks, and were away!
That was a year ago, and they've just had their anniversary. They've been busy ever since, playing with bands like Glasvegas, The Pistolas, Angus and Julia Stone, the Chap... They play hard and fast, tempered by lilting female vocals. They love playing and you'll love listening. We dare you not to dance.

What's next?
Straight to Video's next release will be a a split 7" single between Kid Canaveral and Come On Gang! on the 15th December 2008.
Kid Canaveral will begin sessions for their debut album towards the end of the year.
Straight to Video Records will also be compiling and releasing a sampler of music that makes us smile, dance, cry or just generally floats our boat over the next few months. If you can point us towards any bands or artists that you love and think that we might love too, please let us know.
