Competition
Currently, we are seeking actors, directors, playwrights, stage managers, technicians, per5formance artists, musicians, and volunteers of any sort. This is an exciting opportunity with great potential for growth in the future.
Festival dates are either January 8,9,10, and 18 or January 15,16,17, and 18th.
The concept is an innovative one. We get directors, actors, and playwrights in a room one night and over the course of a weekend, WRITE, REHEARSAL AND PERFORM Fourteen ten-minute plays IF FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE.
These plays compete for audience votes to appear again on the final day of the festival. On that day, audience votes, and an esteemed panel of judges will select a winning production. That group of people will be awarded a rent free weekend at the Gene Frankel Theatre to produce a full-length version of the mini play created.
We hope to bring artists together and give them an opportunity to meet other people in the business as well as show off their skills. Participation is free and there is no audition necessary.
Please send questions and submissions to shotguntheater@yahoo.com. Beginning January 2, 2009,
Please feel free to stop by the theatre between the hours of 2-6pm M-F to submit in person and take a look around.
The Gene Frankel Theatre is located at 24 Bond Street between Lafayette and Bowery. Take 6 to Bleeker or F to Broadway Lafayette.

Theatre33 is presently interviewing actors for our 20 Dollar Acting Classes. For those actors that simply cannot afford the high prices that coaches charge for classes? All we ask is a 20 Dollar donation to the theater weekly to help support our mission.
I believe that anyone wishing to undertake the arduous task of the study of acting should be given as much encouragement and guidance as possible. As a playwright, actor and coach I strive to encourage student actors to pursue theatre in a manner that best suits their individual interests, aspirations and abilities. The wonderful thing about teaching actors is the requirement for individualized teaching and attention which makes it unlike any other kind of instructional academic environment. My goal is to challenge and nurture the creative energy of students while fostering enthusiasm on their part for personal discovery of the acting process. I believe that the acting process is different for each student. While I agree there are basic skills an actor needs to understand regarding voice, movement, text analysis and peri
