NELSON (Vox and Songs and Wonky Rhythm);
KASIA (Vox and Violin and Guitar);
IAN (Guitars and Harmonica and Backing Vox);
BERT (Bass and Production and Height);
RICH (Drums and Banjo and Harmonica and Percussion).
Influences
Quarter-life crises; culs-de-sac; stepping into books; music; buildings; yearning; desperate text messages; courtship, or lack thereof; direction, or lack thereof; distant lands with familiar people; a humdrum town; an eccentric town with pebbles and a broken pier; glamour and the commonplace; optimism as a feeling not a concept; people we spend our time with; rehearsals in bedrooms; absinthe; being late; Romance, Beauty and Pretension.
Sounds Like
If The Velvet Underground are Infra-Red and Sigur Ros Ultra-Violet, Pixies may be Mega-Blue, Arcade Fire a Super-Yellow and we would be Quasi-Absinthe-Green.
Strange Fits of Passion Have I Known:
Nelson was feeling a little lost. He formed a band and felt an awful lot better. He can thank Ian for this. Kasia and her magic carpet were soon taking them to strange and wonderful places. Bert plays basslines like only a lead guitarist can. Marvellously. Rich is compulsive. If you are tap-worthy or strum-able, then strummed or tapped thou shalt be.
We've all had a strange fit of passion or two. Embrace them as they are, venerate them as they were; for common-sense is unimaginative and repressive, whereas impulse cuts a swathe in your memory and soul. Just mind the pointy edges.
Details of more events can be found on www.readingfringefestival.com. They include one off special events from Oxfam Records, Old Orleans and The Global Cafe and Fringe themed versions of the towns host of regular music nights like Bohemian Showcase at Deja Vue and Wicked Boy Promotes at the Face Bar. Look out especially for the Accesible to the Max DJ night at the Global Cafe which is run by COMET, an organization run by and for adults with learning difficulties
Now in its fifth year, The Reading Fringe Festival is an initiative in the runnup to the main festival to promote new and cutting edge acts in the towns venues to the industry and media types and early arrivals. With 20,000 early arrivals allowed in this year, the Fringe looks set for a bumper event.
Theres only 7 days till the print deadline for the Reading Fringe Festival programmes which will be distributed to the 20,000 early arrivals at the Reading Festival Campsite and also industry and media types staying in the towns hotels with nothing to do until the main festival starts. So, if you are running an event between 21st and 27th August please consider adding it to the the Fringe roster. Together the events will have more impact.
for some reason, we can't read or send messages on MySpace at moment but gather from your page you are able to do this Friday. Unfortunately we've had to cancel the acoustic session this week due to other acts pulling out but would really love it if you could play on 13th April. If not another time? Sorry to mess you about....
Thanks for coming down to Bath and playing a great gig. Lots of people were interested in you guys and we will definately have you back. Will keep in touch about dates, so thanks again, lovely to meet you all and will send you our reviews your way when there ready.

C'mon Weird Shakes of Love or whatever you call yourselves, waiting to hear either:
a) some music of yours
b) a town cryer announcing your intention to gig in Bedford or London, or somewhere within easy train distance for my convenience
c) the All-Male Welsh Choirs Heavenly Baritones
or d) all of the above.
Thanks for your co-operation in this matter.
And yes, I know your real name, was only joking about that part. Odd Starts of Libido.
